PLANNING FOR CHRISTMAS MASSES Christmas is just five weeks away. Our neighboring parishes are taking reservations and handing out tick- ets. We’d rather not do this. We really don’t want to refuse admission to anyone, especially at Christmas. And yet, we can’t ignore the pandemic. Since the real issue is the large attendance at the 4 PM Mass on Christmas Eve, we would like to suggest: 1. Consider attending one of the other three masses (6 PM, 8:30 AM or 10:30 AM). Because of the vi- rus, there is no children’s liturgy this year. 2. Leave the pews with the red tags empty; Make sure you “social distance” unless you’re sitting with your family. 3. Share the pew: move in, so someone else can have a seat. 4. If you can, wear a mask. It will make those around you feel safer and we’ll all have a healthy holiday. 5. Even if it’s Christmas, please encourage those who are ill to stay home and celebrate Christmas Mass on TV.

Hopefully, there will be “room at the inn” for everyone.

From The Desk of Mrs. Dzujna, CRE Happy Thanksgiving! While this is not a religious holiday, it presents us with a great opportunity to be thankful for the many blessings we receive daily. I am thankful for my hus- band who provides me with love, support, and friendship. I am thankful for our Church Community particularly now as COVID numbers increase and travelling for the holidays will not be appropriate. I am thankful for our religious ed com- munity – our students who are the bright light that shines on us every Sunday and our volunteer teachers who work hard at teaching our children about God. I would like to remind you that if you have a child who is in the third grade, please know that there is still time to register. This is the year they will be receiving both First Holy Communion and Confirma- tion. After the holidays, we will need to begin the process of getting them ready and their attendance will be particularly important for preparing them. If you are uncomfortable with in-class learning, we will happily work with you to be sure they are ready to receive the sacraments. If you have any questions, please phone me at the Church Office or at my home. Both the teacher and I will do whatever we can to be sure your child is safe and ready to receive Jesus and be con- firmed. “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.” Psalm:100-4 CATHOLIC SERVICES & PROGRAMS
