ARENA, el partido de la derecha nacido en 1981 durante el conflicto, llega al poder en 1989 de la mano de Alfredo Cristiani. Chico and Fuentes are two small-time crooks that live off cons and robberies. Even though Chico considers himself a master of crime almost all his plans fail. They have both lived most of their lives in the USA, Chico is a Portuguese emigrant and Fuentes is Spanish. Since they are already “burned” in “Uncle Sam’s land” they decide to go to Europe in search of the perfect con. Portugal is the perfect place for it due to Chico’s Portuguese roots. Already in Portugal and after a new failed attentive robbery to a bullfight ring of a small rural village from where Chico ends up with an ear cut off, They are contacted by an old, strange butler, Augusto, that hires them to rob an estate. The estate belongs to a Countess for whom he works for over 35 years. Immature and without problems for his hedonism, Edmundo works in one of many hairdresser saloons. An unexpected event triggers an internal process in Edmundo that makes him investigate his past and reconstruct his own memory. Unconscious pictures fill these days, an erased and invented past which, for any reason, is coming to disturb the present. Everyday, Teresa goes to the public medical center to work with prostitutes in a Sexual Fantasies workshop to make them to promote the use of condoms in their clients, as part of a program devoted to dignify sex workers’ role and rights that she believes in. One morning in the upper quarter, Teresa finds a woman’s blonde hair in her husband’s jacket; she can choose between making it important or starting to open a fissure in her perfect and familiar balance. Teresa will discover her husband in his daily routine with a prostitute only to be caressed and then go away. Following this woman, she’ll arrive at the hairdresser’s where Edmund’s working; without thinking about it, she’ll be taken to the mirror where, for first time since a long time ago, she’ll feel forced to consider and realize what she’s living now.

Jordi, a 15 year-old boy who has recently lost his father, and Jordi’s mother decide to move to another city and start a new life. At first everything seems to be going well. But fate has a terrible shock in store for them because when Jordi crosses the threshold of his new secondary school he is unwittingly crossing the grim frontiers of hell itself. The person who invites him in with a chilling smile on his lips is one of his classmates, Nacho who, in spite of his age already belongs to the race of those who feed solely on the fear and pain of other people. What is lying in wait for Jordi and for us is a terrifying journey taking him from unease to suspicions, and then on to humiliation and the realization that evil does indeed exist; from tension to fear and then on to irrepressible panic which will make his heart and ours beat rapidly.
