SAINT BONIFACE CATHOLIC CHURCH FAITH | HOSPITALITY | SERVICE 26 APRIL 2020: THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER “Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the Scriptures to us?” Mission [Luke 24:32] “Being the Joy of the Gospel through a deeper love for Jesus and a stronger com- Oh, how much we would desire for this experience now! mitment to each other!” Confronted with the pandemic that has infected more than 2.5 million people, caused the deaths of over 175,000 and wreaked havoc on the world’s economy, we find our hearts heavy with unimaginable burdens of the self, others, and the world. Perhaps this is our Emmaus— MASS our place of rediscovering the radical love for God and for each other. Weekdays: Unlike the times when we can rush to the bar or other places of escape, we are left with Monday—Friday: 8:00 AM “staying at home.” So, the question is: what have we done to ease our sadness? If we are at home alone or with family, have we sought the company of silence? Have we taken the time Weekends: to listen to the hungers of the Risen Lord and to the whispers of those around us? Saturday: 4:00 PM Sunday: 9:00 AM For those of us who believe, there’s nothing to fear. Jesus is with us—all the time. He goes af- ter those in despair, those left alone. If we allow Him to accompany us, like the disciples on the way to Emmaus, he will transform our burdened hearts to becoming burning hearts. Once we recognize Him—and see Him for who He really is, we will burn for His love. *St Boniface offers Live Streaming of Daily Mass through Facebook until As we journey through this week, let us not be afraid to welcome the Risen Lord into lives— further notice! our doubts, our uncertainties, and our fears!
