SAT-LOA-20060816-00088 S2708 Intelsat North America LLC On December 4, 2006, the Satellite Division dismissed as moot Intelsat's application for authority to operate the Intelsat Americas-5 satellite at the 76.70 W.L. orbital location. Since the Satellite Division granted a previous Intelsat application (SAT-AMD-20060803-00084) requesting authority to operate the Intelsat Americas-5 satellite at the 76.70 W.L. orbital location, with conditions, on December 1, 2006, this application is moot. It was conducted by ITU-R in the framework of Agenda item 1.4 of WRC-07, in accordance with resolves 5 to Resolution 228 (Rev.WRC-03), as these bands were identified as candidate bands for future development of IMT-2000 and IMT-Advanced systems, as described in the Report ITU-R M.2079. The bands 3 400-4 200 MHz and 4 500-4 800 MHz are allocated worldwide on a primary basis to the FSS. This Report presents the results of the sharing studies performed between geostationary satellite networks in the FSS and IMT-Advanced systems. Ron Roessel I was sitting here looking at all the work I had to do for this issue trying to decide where to start when an e-mail popped up on my PC screen. It was from a DXer in Canada and he wanted to know if we’d be interested in hearing about his success with C-band reception using a small dish. I replied by saying that I too have a small prime focus C-band dish that is 1.6 meters in diameter and that I’ve had good results with that. “Well, what about a 1.2-meter or even a 1.0-meter offset dish?” he then asked. Naturally, upon hearing this, I had no choice but to stop what I was doing and find out more.
