Nederlander or “Jimmy,” Chairman of The , was the visionary theatrical impresario who built one of the largest private live entertainment companies in the world known for producing and presenting world-class entertainment since 1912. Jimmy started working in the theatre at age 7 sweeping floors for his father, David Tobias (D.T.) Nederlander, in Detroit, Michigan. During a career that spanned over 70 years, Jimmy amassed a network of premier legitimate theatres including on : the , Honoring James M. Nederlander Gershwin, Lunt-Fontanne, Marquis, Minskoff, Nederlander, Neil Simon, , and the world famous Palace; in : Auditorium Produced by and Private Bank Theaters, Broadway Playhouse, Cadillac Palace, and Oriental Theaters; in : The Pantages; and in London: the Foundation Inc. Adelphi, Aldwych, and Dominion. and CLO He produced over one hundred acclaimed Broadway musicals and plays including , Applause, Hosted by La Cage aux Folles, Les Liaisions Dangereuses, Me and My Girl, Nine, , Peter Pan, Sweet Charity, and Adventures of Nicholas Nickelby, The Will Rogers , Woman of the Year, and many more. Starring “Generous,” “loyal” and “trusted” are just a few of the accolades his friends use to describe him. Ben Platt is best known for starring as Benji Applebaum in Universal Pictures' smash hit Pitch Perfect having reprised his popular role in Pitch Perfect 2 last May. Currently, Ben is starring in the title role of the critically acclaimed original musical on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre for which he received the 2017 Tony Award® for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical. The musical debuted at Arena Stages in Washington D.C. and premiered off-Broadway in New York at 2econdStage Theatre. Of his performance, declares, “…marvelous young actor Ben Platt is giving a performance that’s not likely to be bettered on Broadway this season.” Deadline applauds it as a “movingly sensitive, career-making performance.” Ben was awarded an Obie for his performance as Evan Hansen as well as nominated for an Outer Critics Circle Award and during the off-Broadway run. Ben was also seen alongside Meryl Streep in the film Ricki and The Flash and in Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk. Ben will soon be seen with Salma Hayek and in Drunk Parents. Platt made his Broadway debut as Elder Cunningham in Broadway’s famed production of The Book of Mormon, in which The New York Times called his performance “sensational.” He first originated the role of Elder Cunningham to critical acclaim in the show's Chicago production for which he won a Broadway World Chicago Award- Best Actor in a Touring Production. Platt sold out his first solo show at the popular venue, 54 Below. No stranger to theater, Ben has also starred in the following national tours: Caroline, or Change (directed by George C. Wolfe and ).
