PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS  Visits to archaeological sites and sanctuaries including the Akropolis, , Temple of Zeus, and the an- cient Agora (marketplace)  Excursions outside Athens to Delphi, Sounion, , and the island of  Experiencing Greece like ancient peoples by following in the footsteps of ancient authors such as Pausanias, au- thor of Guide to Greece Academic Focus Greece is a land where ancient myths come to life. This pro- grams offers students an intensive, hand-on study of the art, ar- chitecture and culture of ancient Greece. By visiting the key his- torical and architectural sites of Athens, Attica, and Delphi stu- dents will gain a feel for the experiential dimensions of ancient monuments and their role in the story of its people. The setting is a prime location to explore Mediterranean architecture, archae- ology and topography. Greek art and architecture is founda- tional in the history of western art and civilization, and this pro- gram is a wonderful complement to other courses students might take within the Department of Art or the Culture and Historic Preservation program as well as for students with a general in- terest in the field who wish to fulfill their core complement abroad.
