About the Position

Café Du Pain is seeking an experienced, dedicated individual for the position of night Chef. The full-time night will be responsible for preparing a variety of , pastries and other sweet goods.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. Their skill in baking high-quality treats should be matched by their creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes. The Pastry Chef must adhere to all health and safety standards.

The Pastry Chef’s goal is to enhance customer satisfaction so that we can maintain and expand our clientele.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide variety of goods such as , , breads, pies, and other pastries as necessary to meet daily requirements. • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and pique customers’ interest. • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings, etc. and ensure beautiful and exciting presentation. • Monitor inventory for baking ingredients such as , , etc. and make appropriate orders within budget. • Monitor quality of ingredients and condition of equipment. • Guide and motivate pastry assistants and to work efficiently. • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel. • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Proven experience as Pastry Chef, or other relevant role. • Demonstrated decorating skills (including the ability to make flowers and decorative borders, and knowledge of elegant piping techniques). • Great attention to detail and creativity. • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation and baking techniques and nutrition. • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are free, sugarless etc.). • Certification in culinary arts, pastry making, baking or other relevant field. • Enthusiasm and willingness to adhere to Café Du Pain Bakery’s core values and company philosophy. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Ability to follow a production schedule and prioritize tasks. • Ability to follow recipes, directions, and established procedures.
