ISSN 2411-9563 (Print) European Journal of Social Science September -December 2019 ISSN 2312-8429 (Online) Education and Research Volume 6, Issue 3 Opening of Albanian Schools for Learning the Albanian Language in Kosovo During 1941-45 Ragip Gjoshi University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti” Abstract Difficult, long and troublesome was the journey of Albanian letters in all Albanian lands, especially in Kosovo. The marking of the 75th anniversary of the Albanian school, being commemorated this year in all Albanian lands, is a good opportunity to see the long-lasting path of Albanian education. There are many reasons, but some are more necessary to be written and spoken about. It is rare that nations had to pay dearly for the right to write on their own language compared to Albanian people. So much blood has been shed to escape assimilation. However, when World War II had spread largely over Europe, the Nazi-fascist powers had invaded other countries including all Albanian-inhabited areas. After Albania, Yugoslavia succumbed as well. At that time, the territories of today’s Republic of Kosovo were also occupied. At that point, Kosovo was divided into three occupation zones: Italian, German and Bulgarian. Almost most of Kosovo's lands belonged to the Italian occupation zone. Thus, most of Kosovo and Western Macedonia joined Albania with Royal Decree and King of Vicar Decree no. 264, dated 12. VIII. 1941.1 In all three areas of occupation, the administration of governance was established in the service of the occupiers. The long and harsh oppression had an impact that Albanians would experience and perceive the new circumstances in every aspect as a resemblance of a real freedom, because the tyranny of the 1918-1941 period had exceeded all genocidal dimensions.2 With the initiative of Albanian Minister E. -

The €1,000,000,000 1.500 per cent. Notes due 2029 (the “Notes”) to be issued by the Republic of Serbia, represented by the Government of the Republic of Serbia acting by and through the Ministry of Finance (the “Issuer”) will mature on 26 June 2029 and, unless previously purchased and cancelled, will be redeemed at their principal amount on that date. Population age structure is changing, and takes unfavorable characteristics, reduces the proportion of younger and increases the proportion of elderly population. Disturbed age structure has a reverse effect on the movement of the population (the size of reproductive contingent), but also to all other population structure (size of contingent employment, population, mandatory school contingent, relationship maintenance). Despite significant changes in the demographic structures of all northeastern Montenegro, retains the characteristics of ethnically very heterogeneous environment. Keywords: Northeastern Montenegro, population, population structure INTRODUCTION Question of the relationship between the economy and population can be approached from many sides, because of so much importance to attract the attention of many scientific disciplines. But, if the component is "population" in its demographic organic content, it is apparently possible to approach this issue as follows: from the standpoint 2 Journal of Studies in Social Sciences of economics, from the standpoint of science and interdisciplinary population - economic and demographic standpoint. The first article (Goodrich, 1993) is from The Christian Science Monitor. It is one of several articles we have selected from the Monitor because of its world-famous coverage of international affairs—not because of its religious affiliation. The Goodrich article provides a 1,500-year historical overview that is not usually available in newspapers. We have added a few key points to this article [in square brackets], and some useful maps (Figures 13.6–13.8, Table 13.1). The second reading consists of excerpts from a United Nations research arti- cle by Ali Karaosmano´glu (1993) that offers a concise summary of how and why the former Yugoslavia fell apart. It highlights the most important fact about the politi- cal geography of the area: that the former Yugoslavia was a multination state, but breaking it into its individual republics (i.e., provinces) did not solve the problem because both Bosnia and Croatia were also each a mix of nations. In the third article, photojournalist Lee Malis of The Christian Science Monitor tells the harrowing tale of one young Muslim woman’s nightmare at the hands of the Bosnian Serbs. Party Politics in the Western Balkans Edited by Věra Stojarová and Peter Emerson 2 Legacy of communist and socialist parties in the Western Balkans Věra Stojarová As Ishiyama and Bozóki note, the development of communist successor parties1 in post- communist politics has had an important effect upon the development of democracy (Bozóki and Ishiyama 2002: 393). In some countries the communist party was outlawed; in many cases it was transformed into a party of a socialist or social democratic character; elsewhere, the communist party began to take part in the democratic process, which led to varying results; in some cases, the party transformed itself into a classic socialist or social democratic party; while in other cases it retained a communist ideology. As the literature reveals, the type of the regime, the modus of transition, the manner of financing political parties, the organisation of the parties, as well as the whole political context, all matter. Ishiyama suggests that the patrimonial communist regime (as in Serbia) produced communist successor parties which had to distinguish themselves from the previous communist system and hence turned towards nationalism, while in a national- consensus regime (Slovenia, Croatia), the successor parties developed policies that divorced the party from the past, and led to the emergence of a social democratic identity (Ishiyama 1998: 81–2). Nevertheless, the application of the above- mentioned theory reveals the exceptionality of the Western Balkan countries. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the ethnic structure and the different goals of the three ethnicities had a great impact on the formation of political parties, which were mainly based on ethnic grounds, and left little space to the parties with a social democratic orientation. -
