Dr. K.Yeshodhara, Professor of Education, University of Mysore, born 22nd May 1952, hails from rural part of Hassan District of Karnataka State in India and belong to a very backward community ‘Hindu Viswakarma’ (category IIA) . She is a product of University of Mysore starting from Bachelor degree to Ph. D in Education. She started her career in a College of Education affiliated to University of Mysore and presently is working as the Chairperson of DOS in Education, University of Mysore. Having put in 37 years of experience in teaching , research and administration she has served the University in different capacities as Dean, Syndicate, Senate and Academic Council member; Chairperson of the Department, Board of Studies, Faculty, Affiliation Committee etc.; Member of different committees and bodies, professional organizations, voluntary bodies of educational importance, NCTE Visiting Team Member and NAAC Peer Team Member, Member Co-Ordinator and Chairperson. . She has also worked with different universities outside Karnataka as a member of BOS, Faculty and other academic and administrative bodies ; as a Resource Person/ Expert / Chairperson of technical sessions in many programs at State and National levels. Prof. Yeshodhara has been distinctly identified as an efficient teacher, potential researcher, distinguished academician and dynamic administrator. Further, she has been honoured with prestigious Sri Ratan Tata Trust ( SRTT) Visiting Fellowship,’ ‘Hrudayavantharu ‘ Award for distinguished achievement in the field of Education as a woman from very backward community ‘ Hindu Viswakarma’ (belonging to II A category). During SRTT Fellowship period she has worked at Institute of Social and

She has also worked as a Member of ‘Committee for Development of Science in Schools – a development project of the University of Mysore under the chairmanship of Prof. P. Venkataramaiah, Former VC of Kuvempu University . She has also organized and worked as Co-ordinator / Convener for many programmes at National and State level. Apart from this, Prof. Yeshodhara is very much interested in social service and welfare of women and children too. To her interest, she got an opportunity to work as the Chairperson of Women Harassment Complaint / Enquiry Committee in University of Mysore since 2009. The Committee is working objectively as per the guidelines of the Supreme Court. The Committee has prepared brochures and posters both in Kannada and English highlighting the objectives, scope and working mechanism of the Committee. These brochures and posters were released by Hon’ble Sri Justice Arali Nagaraj, Judge, High Court of Karnataka , Bangalore and Smt. Manjula, Chairperson of Karnataka State Women’s Commission, Bangalore; distributed to all the Departments, Centers, offices, hostels and affiliated colleges of the University of Mysore for display and promote awareness about the Committee among staff and students. Seminars and orientation programs were also held in this regard. She is very much interested in spreading awareness among girl students and women employees to get empowered to face the life with courage and live with dignity in the society.
