Dear Parents,

A very warm welcome to the school from FOSACH (Friends of Streatham & Clapham High).

As Friends of Streatham & Clapham High, our aim is to foster positive relationships between parents, teachers and pupils through social, charitable and fundraising events.

Welcome to FOSACH.

All parents in the school, from the nursery to the Sixth Form, are automatically members of FOSACH.

FOSACH raises funds for the benefit of all pupils and provides valuable donations to nominated charities. In recent years we have been delighted to be able to fund the purchase of a new grand piano for the Ellis Hall as well as a concert keyboard for the Junior School, library shelves, an overhead projector, and a contribution to both the gardening club and SCOOP our in-house school pupil magazine. This year FOSACH funded 2 dugouts on the all-weather pitch offering seating and shelter to spectators (in all weathers) . FOSACH also selects a children’s charity to support for a 2 year period. For the school years 2012-2014, the chosen charity is The Livity School in . This is a primary school for children with complex needs.

FOSACH relies entirely on the generosity and support of parents and friends of the school. You will find updates of activities on the school’s website and in the FOSACH FOCUS newsletter which is emailed to all parents at the end of each term. FOSACH also has its own designated Noticeboards at both schools and public and private pages on Facebook. and this is an excellent way of keeping in touch with FOSACH’s events and activities. Each class has a nominated class representative who plays a vital role in the communication of FOSACH activities and in arranging class social events.

We hope that you will join us in supporting the school through our activities. We actively encourage all parents to attend our regular termly meetings – these are an ideal opportunity in which to discuss ideas in a relaxed environment. In the meantime, if you are interested in becoming a class representative or committee member, please do not hesitate to contact either Janine McDonald or Mike Cluley (Senior School) and Cheryl Hollingshead (Junior School).

How do I become involved?

The success of FOSACH relies entirely on parental support and we encourage all parents to support us in whatever way they can. There are a variety of ways to become involved:

Become a Class Representative. A Class Rep performs a crucial role in encouraging a friendly atmosphere amongst the parents and in supporting FOSACH events. If you are interested in being a Class Rep and would like to know more please email us.

Volunteer as part of an event team. Each social or fundraising event, such as the Summer Fair or Easter Afternoon, is organised by a different event team. If you can give a couple of hours or more in the run-up to or on the day of an event – then please email us and get involved. [email protected]

If you have ideas to raise money, then tell us! [email protected]

The Management Committee Meetings and the AGM are open to all parents. Come along to hear more about what we do and take part in discussions.

If you use Facebook, search for FOSACH to find the public page to visit/like and a private FOSACH discussion group.
