2013-01-15 13:15 CET and Alt-J (Δ) confirmed for NorthSide

Kaizers Orchestra has also been added to the line-up for the Danish festival

The program for NorthSide 2013 is really beginning to take shape, and with today's releases, we add some very current and acclaimed acts that will look beautiful on an already great poster.

Last week the Swedish brother/sister duo The Knife sold out two concerts in Copenhagen’s Store Vega venue in just a few minutes. Since the tickets were snapped up so quickly, there were many who didn’t get any, so it is with great pleasure that we can now add them to the NorthSide-poster. The two Swedes have always been shrouded in mystery, and there have been large gaps between the visually inventive concerts with the innovative duo. For many years the duo didn’t play concerts at all and in recent years, The Knife has been busy writing music for the opera "Tomorrow, In A Year" and a forthcoming album, which will be released in April. In addition, one half of the duo, Andersson, has had great success with the solo project Fever Ray. The Knife is without a doubt one of Scandinavia's most interesting acts, and we are very proud that and Karin Dreijer Andersson has chosen to play one of their rare concerts at NorthSide.

The Knife will plays NorthSide on Friday the 14th of June.

One of last year's most acclaimed releases came from the British quartet Alt-J (Δ), who have established their computer inspired name with the album "An Awesome Wave". The album was the big favourite to win the prestigious British Mercury Prize, and it was indeed Alt-J (Δ), who ran off with the trophy in November for their debut album. In other words, the awesome wave is still carrying them successfully, and it is fantastic that NorthSide is able to present their first Danish show in June.

Alt-J (Δ) will play NorthSide on Saturday the 15th of June.

Norway's biggest rock band has for more than ten years blown away their Danish audience with a unique blend of Balkan-folk and noisy punk-inspired rock. Both their sound and instrumentation is unique, and there are not many who can mesmerize an audience with a captivating personality like Janove Ottesen. Incidentally, the concert at NorthSide is the last opportunity to experience the band for a long time as it’s Kaizers' last before they start a pause of indefinite length. So we are very pleased that Kaizers Orchestra will show up with oil barrels, gas masks, pump organs, and accordions and wreak havoc as only they can.

Kaizers Orchestra will play NorthSide on Friday the 14th of June.

The list of announced acts for NorthSide 2013 are as follows: Alt-J (Δ), Arctic Monkeys, Band of Horses, The Eclectic Moniker, Ellie Goulding, The Flaming Lips, Fun., Kaizers Orchestra, The Knife, Nephew, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Portishead, Trentemøller, and When Saints Go Machine.
