Public Auction #102 Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 10:00 A.M. AT Best Western Mt. Vernon Inn 110 S. Orlando Avenue Winter Park, FL 32789 Welcome to our 102nd Public Auction, a month later than usual due to our moving our offices and installing new software which we trust will benefit everyone. The auction is, as usual, chock full of the expected and unexpected. The U.S. section has a nice variety of fine used top values from the 1869 90c Lincoln, a 90c Perry, beautiful $5 Columbian, $5 Marshall, $1 Trans-Miss., etc. Also beautiful NH singles, blocks and Plate blocks of the 1917-26 issues with values to the $5. We are pleased to offer a recently discovered full sheet of 50 of the 1943-44 Poland issue with reverse printing of colors, as well as NH blocks of 4 of C1-3, a 24c Jenny 'grounded plane' NH and Plate # singles and blocks of 4 of the ever popular Zeppelins. A fine selection of postal history rounds out the U.S. section. You'll find a valuable British Empire collection, carefully put together over the past 40 years, suitably broken down with almost every colony represented from earlies to the 1940s. We offer a further selection of our dear friend Robert Cihak's China and related areas with some wonderful postal history. Speaking of China, be sure to look at the Wei Hai Wei Courier Post issues which includes a rare 5c Black on red single and a lovely block of 4 of the 2c value. Imperial China is well represented with such goodies as a lightly hinged 1897 9 candarin Dowager, an 1897 10 cent on 9 candarin inverted surcharge LH, nice Flying Geese issues and a lovely block of 9 of the 1912 3c Nanking Provisional NH with pure white gum. Other Asian specials include the 1905-06 First Korean Souvenir booklet (only 300 produced); Ryukyu rarities with Scott # 3X2b, 3X9v, 4X1 and 4X3 in fresh NH blocks of 4; a variety of scarce individual Tibetan postal history plus an accumulation of 200+ covers from 1957-1980s offered as one lot. Italian collectors will find an array of singles and covers from the Italian States with emphasis on Modena, Tuscany and Parma with many signed items. However, the highlight of the Sale is the 138-volume Beck collection of Germany which we trucked back from North Florida and have broken down into 72 meaty lots. This great collection/accumulation includes everything from the States to Germany proper plus Colonies, Occupation Issues, Territories, Locals, Revenues, DDR and on and on. A huge quantity of postal history could take hours to view. Add this to the country collections and Worldwide box lots and you should probably count on spending 2 days with us just viewing. As the song says: "Come one, come all, you're going to have a ball!" Happy Bidding. VIEWING Monday-Thursday, Jan. 9 - Jan. 12: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM at Winter Park Stamp Shop (Ranch Mall 17-92) 325 S.
