Her heart was interred at the Carthusian house of Herne, about twenty-five 1 This is an extended version of a paper given at the 44th conference of the Centre européen d’études bourguignonnes (XIVe-XVIe s.), held at Malines 25-27 September 2003 on the theme of ’Marguerite d’York et son temps’ The French text will appear in the transactions of the conference, with the title ‘”Danse macabre” autour du squelette de Marguerite d’York.
