Illinois Net Metering Application

Applicability

This application applies only to retail electric customers, located in MidAmerican Energy Company’s (MidAmerican Energy) Illinois service territory, that own or operate an eligible renewable electrical generating facility with a rated capacity of up to 2,000 kilowatts that is located on the customer’s premises and is intended primarily to offset the customer’s own electrical requirements on the premises. An “eligible renewable electrical generating facility” is defined as a generator up to 2,000 kilowatts powered by solar electric energy, wind, dedicated crops grown for , anaerobic digestion of livestock or food processing waste, fuel cells or micro-turbines powered by renewable fuels, or hydroelectric energy.

Additional Information

• MidAmerican Energy may request additional information from and will notify the Net Metering Program Applicant within 10 business days of receiving a complete and executed Net Metering Application as to whether the applicant is authorized to participate in MidAmerican Energy’s Net Metering Program. • Net Metering Program Applicant has 30 business days after notification of eligibility by MidAmerican Energy to submit a Generator Interconnection Application. • Failure to submit a Generator Interconnection Application within 30 business days of notification of eligibility will result in the Net Metering Application being withdrawn from the Net Metering Queue. • Prior to operation of the Net Metering Facility, the Net Metering Program Applicant • must complete the Generator Interconnection Process pursuant to Part 466 of the Rules of the Illinois Commerce Commission, • execute a Generator Interconnection Agreement with MidAmerican Energy, and • fulfill all requirements as specified within the Generator Interconnection Agreement.
