Anderson would qualify for London if he wins what would be the biggest title of his career. A title for Nishikori would move him to just 125 points outside of the No. 8 position in the Race to London. • Anderson will try to earn the highest-level ATP World Tour singles title of his career, as his four singles championships have all come at ATP World Tour 250 events. This year’s Wimbledon finalist leads the field in aces this week (56) despite receiving a second-round walkover from wild card Jurgen Melzer and having an abbreviated quarter-final match after No. 6 seed Borna Coric retired during the second set. Anderson would clinch his Nitto ATP Finals debut with a win on Sunday. • Nishikori, meanwhile, is searching for his first ATP World Tour singles title since winning at Memphis in 2016. The Japanese star’s title drought spans eight losses in finals, over 32 months and 48 tournament appearances.
