Tenisové Kurty Slovana Bratislava Dotácia: 66 640 € 7.–13. 6. tenisové kurty Slovana Bratislava Dotácia: 66 640 € Udržať sériu ATP je vždy výzva Hlavný organizátor bratislavského turnaja Branislav Stankovič udržal kontinuitu podujatia aj v čase pandémie. A to aj napriek rok trvajúcim obmedzeniam. Vlani sa turnaj Bratislava Open uskutočnil mimo challengerovej série ATP iba s domácou konkurenciou, tohto roku sa vracia tradičný medzinárodný formát. Kooperativa Bratislava Open sa uskutoční 7. – 13. júna 2021 na dvorcoch Slovana opäť ako súčasť série challengerov ATP. Bude to už 18. ročník podujatia pod taktovkou Stankoviča, ktorému pomáhajú Miloslav Mečíř a Marián Vajda, generační druhovia a priatelia z profesionálnych tenisových rokov. „Udržať turnaj v sérii ATP je vždy veľká výzva. Vlani sa nedalo cestovať pre koronavírus, ale vďaka partnerom sme usporiadali turnaj pre našich najlepších tenistov a po prvý raz aj pre ženy. Teraz sme v neistote čakali aká bude epidemická situácia. Vo februári padlo rozhodnutie, že sa challenger Kooperativa Bratislava Open uskutoční,“ popisuje kľúčový čas pre definitívu Branislav Stankovič. Pôvodne sa v Bratislave malo hrať v termíne po Roland Garros. Pravda, štart grandslamového turnaja posunuli pre zlú epidemickú situáciu vo Francúzsku o týždeň. Uskutoční sa od 30. mája do 13. júna 2021. Znamená to, že bratislavský challenger sa hrá paralelne s druhým týždňom v Paríži. „Challengerové turnaje namiesto 4 týždňov nahustili do 3 týždňov. Náš nový termín od 7. júna výdatne pomohol vylobovať Marián Vajda. Z hľadiska antukárov je to veľmi dobrý termín,“ poznamenáva Stankovič. Pavúk kvalifikácie bude 16-členný a hlavného turnaja 32-členný (naposledy v roku 2019 bol 48-členný). Turnajová dotácia sa nezmenila (tohto roku 66 640 €), hospitality sa rozšírilo aj na kvalifikáciu. „V konečnom dôsledku je pre usporiadateľov turnaj drahší, lebo pribudli opatrenia súvisiace s Covidom-19. Nielen naše špecifické slovenské, ale opatrenia vydala aj Asociácia tenisových profesionálov. Ja však verím, že všetky dokážeme dodržať a v areáli Slovana privítame našich verných divákov,“ vraví Stankovič. Turnajový rozpočet musel navýšiť o ďalších 5 tisíc eur na PCR testy pre zhruba 70 ľudí. Hráčska a organizačná časť turnaja vytvoria bublinu, budú prísne oddelené. Účastníci prídu už s platným testom a uprostred týždňa ich pretestujú v Bratislave. „Po dlhšej dobe sme získali generálneho partnera. Kooperativa je tak súčasťou názvu turnaja. Som rád, že nám zostalo verných viac partnerov aj z minulosti. Všetkým patrí veľká vďaka,“ prízvukuje Stankovič. Pochopiteľne, želá si opäť slovenského víťaza. Po rokoch pôstu, keď v košickom dejisku v rokoch 2003 - 2014 nikdy Slovák nevyhral, konečne to vyšlo v Poprade v roku 2018 Jozefovi Kovalíkovi. V premiére turnaja v Bratislave v roku 2019 vyhral Norbert Gombos. A tak si organizátori želajú, aby slovenskí tenisti na Kooperativa Bratislava Open 2021 na ich úspechy nadviazali. Branislav Stankovič, bývalý tenisový profesionál (nar. 30. mája 1965 v Piešťanoch), dosiahol najlepšie postavenie vo svetovom rebríčku 86. miesto (november 1988). Reprezentoval Slovensko v Davisovom pohári v roku 1994, neskôr bol trénerom tímu a trénerom družstva žien vo Fed Cupe. Člen Siene Slávy slovenského tenisu už dve desaťročia organizuje tenisové turnaje v Košiciach, Poprade, Bratislave a Piešťanoch. V roku 2020 založil projekt na podporu mládežníckeho tenisu Hrajme tenis Slovensko.
