Embark on a dynamic journey that begins with a walk through the streets of Oslo before rumbling across one of ’s highest mountain plateaus by railway. Considered one of the world’s most scenic train rides, you’ll climb more than 3,000 feet above level, passing through tunnels and some of ’s most awe-inspiring terrain. Your destination is , a UNESCO World Heritage , where you’ll discover a rich maritime history and spectacular views of the surrounding and peaks. Departing from the heart of Bergen, a panoramic cruise takes you to for an exploration led by a local historian. Towns are quite compact so the best way to explore their beauty and history is on foot.

DAY-BY-DAY ITINERARY

Day 1

Meet your driver at the Oslo airport for your transfer to your hotel. Once checked in, you’ll begin your exploration of the Norwegian capital on foot. Set off down the city’s most famous street, Karl Johans gate, and amble along the waterfront to view the Nobel Peace Centre and Akershus Festning, Oslo’s great medieval castle. Marvel at the rich forests and glistening lakes that surround the city as you make your way by coach to the Holmenkollen Ski Jump, boasting more than 100 years of Nordic and Olympic heritage. After your guided tour, enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure before regrouping for dinner at the hotel. Please Note: International flights should be booked to arrive in Oslo by 11:00am to join the walking tour.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be taken to the train station where you’ll board the Bergen Railway and begin one of the most panoramic train rides anywhere in the world—a seven-hour journey across one of Europe’s highest mountain plateaus. Reach the town of Myrdal and transfer to the Flåm Railway. Soak up sweeping views as you wind around the peaks and pass through 20 tunnels reaching an elevation of 3,000 feet above sea level. As you near Bergen, marvel at the views of this historic city surrounded by seven fjords and seven mountains. Arrive and bid the rails farewell. Transfer from the train station to your hotel in Bergen, check-in and join the group for dinner and share stories of the day’s ride through the wilds of Norway.

Day 3

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before setting out to explore Bergen’s UNESCO World Heritage streets by foot. Begin with a narrated walk through the Bryggen, the city’s old quarter, with cobblestone streets, famed for its 17th-century facades. Learn about the city’s seafaring history before joining the locals at the Bergen Fish Market. This is followed by another wonderful taste of local life—a delicious Norwegian lunch. Later on, venture to Fløyen, one of the mountains surrounding the city. Zip up to the top via the funicular for spectacular views of Bergen and the surrounding landscape, then head back down to enjoy the rest of the evening at your leisure.

Day 4

Following breakfast, you will be transferred to board a local ship for a beautiful 5 ½ hours cruise to the city of Stavanger. You’ll leave directly from the heart of Bergen, gliding past the city’s historic facades and beneath the surrounding mountains. Continue on toward Haugalandet, where views to the surrounding islets and deep fjords makes for a spectacular backdrop. Grab a bite at the onboard eatery and soak up the views. Upon arrival in Stavanger, check into your hotel and enjoy some free time to explore the city. Come evening, join the group at a local restaurant for an authentic Norwegian dinner experience.

Day 5

Today, you’ll discover the heart and soul of Stavanger alongside a local historian. The city center is quite compact, making it ideal for exploring by foot. Stroll the cobblestone streets of Gamle Stavanger, the city’s historic quarter, for a close look at its collection of 170 white wooden homes. Delve into the city’s seafaring heritage at the Maritime Museum and the Norwegian Fish Canning Museum. Afterwards, take a walk down Øvre Holmegate, the city’s most colorful street. Learn how it was transformed into a vibrant playground of niche shops, inviting cafés and lively pubs. The rest of the day is at your leisure. Dinner is included at the hotel.

Join the group for breakfast before being escorted to the airport to catch your flight to Stockholm. Arrive and check into your hotel. Afterwards, the balance of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Perhaps, explore the cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s Old Town, a bustling little island where historic and palaces share cobbled streets with stylish bistros and trendy cocktail bars.

Day 7
