They have gone far beyond the call of duty and have carried heavy work loads because of their love for the Master. WORLDVIEW: ENLARGING THE REFORMED TENT1 The scene below is a true story that represents one of the lowest points ever in my entire 28-year missionary career and of which I am ashamed till this day. "Pastor, I need your help for a serious problem I have." "Alright, Benjamin, what is it? Feel free." "Well, it's this way. After I go to bed at night and fall asleep, I start traveling to other places. I know this is bad, but I don't know what to do about it. I can't stop it." "Benjamin, are you sure you are not just dreaming?" "No, Pastor, I know this is for real. And it has not happened just once or twice, but many times." "OK, Benjamin. Tonight I will sleep in your hut on my trekbed and I will watch to see what will happen. If you're dreaming, I'll wake you up. If you start moving, I will grab you and not let you go. Then, in the morning we will together review what actually happened." Benjamin turned around in disgust. "Pastor, there is nothing to see or hold on to. It is my spirit that is traveling, not the body. My body will stay in bed." With that, Benjamin left me. Clearly I had not been of any help to him. He was appalled at my attitude and my ignorance. Here was a rather common problem and this white pastor with all of his education does not understand what is going on. Hopeless! I was left holding the bag.

This study followed three white university ESOL instructors in an EAP program in a major metropolitan area on the East Coast and sought to answer the following questions: How do these instructors conceive of Social Justice Pedagogy? In what ways does their “whiteness” enter into the classroom when discussing racial and social justice issues? What practical lessons that can be gleaned from these instructors’ practices for TESOL educators who seek to engage in SJP? This semester-long qualitative study employed classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and students, and document review of syllabi, assignments, and classroom resources.

ART BEYOND BORDERS, PostCards From The World “My Dream of Peace” Competition, Exhibitions & Art Exchange Overview A postcard is not a veil that hides its content like a letter, but proudly announces its significance for all to see. It is one of the few things left that requires personal interaction; it is the trilogy of sender, delivery and receiver that shares a common union. ART BEYOND BORDERS, PostCards From The World premieres the world’s largest open art competition and exhibitions. In partnership with Artsonia and Teachers Discovery hundreds of thousands of teachers and students around the globe will be invited to share “My Dream of Peace” by creating and entering small original works of art on postcards, with the option to upload images, if time and funds for postage are limited. PostCards From the World will give students a voice in a world they will define and provide a platform to showcase our kindred spirit and creative connection. Art Beyond Borders, PostCards From The World is a project of TIMOTCA, The International Museum of Twenty-first Century Arts. TIMOTCA is a nonprofit corporation founded in 1980 to foster peace and cultural understanding through the universal language of art and to build the world’s first global Peace Monument and Cultural Center presenting the visual and performing arts of every country on earth. Two hundred and fifty countries have been identified for participation and to date, over 60 countries have accepted TIMOTCA’s invitation, having officially chosen their most celebrated artists for the TIMOTCA Nomination Document. Traveling the world, TIMOTCA Co-Founders have met with the master artists who have been selected to represent their respective countries.
