Vom Dorf Brigels geht es zum Golfplatz und auf dem flachen Hügelzug Tschuppina an den höchstgelegenen Eichenwäldchen der Surselva vorbei. Bei Flanz lohnt sich ein Abstecher von 5-8 Min. zum Aussichtspunkt mit Sicht über das ganze Vorderrheintal. Von der spektakulären Höhlenburg Kropfstein, den erstaunlichen Fresken der Kirche Waltensburg über die grosse Burgruiune Munt Sogn Gieri auf Jörgenberg bis zu den Steinsäulen eines früheren Galgens in deren Nähe. Dies und vieles mehr gibt es an diesem Tag der Wanderung zu bestaunen. Im Hof der Burgruiune Munt Sogn Gieri können Sie zudem gemütlich grillieren, um anschliessend gestärkt den Heimweg über Miglié in Angriff zu nehmen. Route: Brigels – Tschuppina – Flanz – Casti Grotta(Kropfstein) – Waltensburg – Munt Sogn Gieri(Jörgenberg) – Waltensburg – Miglié – Brigels Wanderzeit ca. 4.5 Stunden Distanz ca. 15 Kilometer Höhendifferenz ca. 450 m Brigels Resort AG, Via Plaun Rueun 44, 7165 Brigels, Tel. +41 81 920 14 00, Fax +41 81 920 14 03 www.pradasresort.ch [email protected] Rund um den Grep da Plaids Auf dieser sehr abwechslungsreichen Wanderung rund um den Grep da Plaids beeindrucken die Wände aus hellem Rauhwacke-Gestein und die bizarren Felstürme, ebenso das für die obere Surselva ungewohnt Vegetationsbild auf karbonatreichem Gestein, im besonderen die seltenen Bergföhrenbestände. Ruinen von Kalköfen sind Zeugen der früheren Kalkbrennerei. Zuerst geht es durch offene Wälder, Maiensässe und Lawinenzüge, vorbei an mehreren Feuerstellen und dem schönen Flachmoor im Plaun da Plaids. Sehr lohnend ist der kurze Aufstieg zum Aussichtspunkt «Grep da Plaids». Der Pfad zweigt etwa 130 m östlich der Feuerstelle ab, ist nicht markiert und nur schwach erkennbar. Das kleine Hochplateau versprüht den Hauch einer nordischen Heidelandschaft. Die Wanderung setzt sich unmittelbar westlich neben dem Rastplatz fort. Nach einem Abstieg, vorbei an Rauhwacke-Formationen mit Legföhren und durch hochmontane Fichtenwälder auf karbonatreichem Gestein, nehmen Sie direkt oberhalb der neuen Meliorationsstrasse den unscheinbaren markierten Weg hinauf und durchqueren auf Holzstegen bei Arblatsch ein bewaldetes Feuchtgebiet. Durch die Cuolms da Runs geht es auf einer Naturstrasse wieder zurück nach Brigels. Route:

    Varietäten und Sprachkontakt in rätoromanischen SMS* Matthias Grünert (Zürich) Abstract As a minority language in Switzerland, the Romansh of the Grisons is exposed to pressure from the dominant language in its region, namely (Swiss) German. Consequently, it has not developed a generally accepted standardized written form, being above all a spoken language, which cedes many written functions to the dominant language. These premises entail a complex spectrum of language variation in informal written use of Romansh in SMS- communication. This variation includes deviations from regional written norms, traits of (dialectal) orality, interference of (Swiss) German, and code-switching to (Swiss) German. Language contact is evident in the fact that Romansh is used for part of an SMS whereas another part of the same SMS sent by the same person may be written in one or even in two varieties of the majority language, i.e. German and Swiss German. Some speakers of Romansh, mainly people who live outside of the traditional linguistic territory, do not write in Romansh at all. The Charter came into force on 1 April 1998. Article 15 of the Charter requires states to present a report to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on the policy and measures adopted by them to implement its provisions. Switzerland‘s first report was submitted to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe in September 1999. Since then, Switzerland has submitted reports at three-yearly intervals (December 2002 and May 2006) on developments in the implementation of the Charter, with explanations relating to changes in the language situation in the country, new legal instruments and implementation of the recommendations of the Committee of Ministers and the Council of Europe committee of experts. This document is the fourth periodical report by Switzerland. The report is divided into a preliminary section and three main parts. The preliminary section presents the historical, economic, legal, political and demographic context as it affects the language situation in Switzerland.     Alpine Common Property Institutions under Change: Conditions for Successful and Unsuccessful Collective Action of Alpine Farmers in the Canton Graubünden of Switzerland Gabriela Landolt, Tobias Haller Abstract: The goal to protect and sustainably manage alpine summer pastures is stated in the Swiss state law since 1996 and direct subsidy payments from the state for summer pasturing have been bound to sustainability criteria since 2000 reflecting the increasing value of the alpine cultural landscape as a public good. However, the provision of the public good remains in the hands of the local farmers and their local common pool resource (CPR) institutions to manage the alpine pastures and those institutions increasingly struggle with upholding their institutional arrangements particularly regarding the communal work, called Gemeinwerk, necessary to maintain the pastures. This paper examines two case studies of local CPR institutions to manage alpine pastures in the canton Graubünden of Switzerland manifesting different institutional developments in the light of changing conditions. Explanations for the unequal reactions to change and their impacts on the provision of the CPR are provided by focusing on relative prices, bargaining power and ideology as drivers of institutional change often neglected within common property research.
