It is our passion and our commitment to welcome Children and Young adults for over 50 years. Our intensive program caters to the needs of all campers, whether they wish to concentrate on a particular sport or discover the full range of activities we offer. JTCamp’s multicultural and multilingual environment creates the perfect holiday setting for your loved ones. They will return home having experienced a summer full of fun, friendship, new knowledge and skills, and fan- tastic discoveries. Mr Bernard Repond | Mrs Rose-Marie Repond | Mr Gilles Repond Directors & Owners SWISS MADE ,1.30 HOURS TRAIN STATION, 20 MIN LOCATION Flims-Laax, a picturesque Swiss Mountain Village, is a summer paradise of green mountain pastures, glacier-fed rivers, and pristine lakes. The Caumasee, the largest lake in the area, is sourced from natural warm water springs and features islands and beautiful turquoise water. The Laaxersee also offers great swimming with countless aquatic activities such as canoeing, water trampoline and paddling. Located at an ideal 1000 meters, the average temperature in summer is around a very comfortable 22 Degres Celcius. The safety and security are of very high standards, as the road in front and around our building is private. TAILOR MADE WHAT MAKES JTCAMP SPECIAL HIGH FLEXIBLE QUALITY NO LARGE DURATION ACCOMMO- GROUPS DATION SMALL ALL FAMILY LANGUAGE INCLUSIVE OWNED CLASSES Typical week and Day Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are devoted to Language classes followed by sports and cultural activities. See below for an example of a schedule. Wednesdays are excursions days. Sunday morning, we let the campers sleep in, then have a large brunch followed by afternoon “Big Games” and we end the day with an amazing BBQ by the lake or in the mountains ! TYPICAL DAY 7:45 am Wake-up 8:15 – 8:45 am Breakfast 9:30 – 11:45 am English, French, German, or Spanish classes 12:00 pm Lunch and leisure period 1:30 pm Activities 5:45 pm Everyone back at camp 6:30 pm Dinner 7:30 pm Evening activities: arts, sport, cultural activities 9:30 – 10:30 pm Bedtime (depends on the activities and/or age) WHAT MAKES JTCAMP SPECIAL LANGUAGE CLASSES We welcome all levels, from very beginner all the way to Advanced. A placement test at the beginning ensures the right placement in the correct class. All of our teachers are either bilingual or native speakers. 12 hours of lessons happen weekly, in classes of maximum 8 students. A certificate is provided at the end of the Session. Each daily class period is supervised by a member of the direction. SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES JTCamp has a unique concept: All sports and activities are included. Each camper will be able to choose from a range of 30 activities, and according to their level and intensity. This means that a camper will never go to an activity that she / he has not chosen. The activities are only chosen on location, with the help of a counsellor. SPORTS CLIMBING AND HIKING: Accent on climbing – both inside and outside, via ferrata, and glacier walking. GOLF: Possibility to pass the exams for course permission. MOUNTAIN BIKING: As a Major for 10 years and up. FREE STYLE: Trampoline and skateboarding. FOOTBALL ACADEMY: For boys and girls, 4 days a week, 2 hours and a game in the evening. AND TENNIS, HORSEBACK RIDING, CANOEING, BASKETBALL, INDOOR GYMNASTIC, YOGA, ... CULTURAL ACTIVITIES MUSIC: Percussion, song. ARTS AND CRAFTS: Painting, drawing, art creation. COOKING CLASSES: Two 2 hour sessions per week – Swiss specialties with a professional chef. EXCURSIONS Our price include as well a weekly 1-day excursion and some are to famous sites in Switzerlnad such as Luzern, Ascona, Zurich, … Each ex- cursion has its own “style”, from active to visits, and reserved for young- sters or teenagers. OPTIONAL SKI TRIP TO ZERMATT Around the mid of July, we offer the option for in-house campers to go to Zermatt Glacier to learn how to ski. What better time that Summer to start enjoying the slopes ? The same level of service applies to this extra trip (Double rooms, food, our teachers …) STAFF AND SAFETY The ratio of staff to campers is 1:5. Our staff are carefully screened and trained during an intensive process. For some activities, we enlist the ex- pertise of additional professionals to ensure the safety of the Campers. The Management Team is always present and supervises every aspect of camp life. We conduct daily staff meetings to ensure that we receive feedback from our Teachers in order to adapt the program for the next day. Every night, campers are informed about our “Night Monitors”, that is, staff who remaining the corridors throughout the night to provide any needed assistance or simply to comfort a camper that has had a bad dream. Our building is also equipped with a state of the art CCTV and access door system that prevents any unauthorized entrance. Also, our phones lines are open for emergencies 24/7. Each new camp- er is required to fill in a medical form, which is provided in advance to the doctors in the region and the closest hospital. We have around the clock medical care available. ACCOMMODATION JTCamp’s headquarters are in the Riders’ palace. A Design hotel equipped with Minergy eco-friendly system. JTCamp is proud to offer double rooms for all of our guests (triples may be available upon request), each with private shower and toilets. Fresh towels are always provided and house- keeping is performed on a daily basis. Twice-weekly laundry service is also included. Single room available for an extra charge. CUISINE Our Head Chef has extensive experience in many different styles of cuisine and pleases the palates of our international guests with family-style served lunch and dinners. Our well-balanced menus ensure that courses always consist of fresh and local products. JTCamp never serves pork and insists on using only fresh vegetables and fruits. Breakfasts consist of a large buffet, with new items daily. Every week, we surprise our campers with themed buffets, barbeques by the lake, and mountain-top pic-nics! Throughout the day, a large basket of fruit and fresh water are always available for campers. Snacks are provided during the afternoon: fruits, and, twice a week, a chocolate-cereal bar. Special diets can be catered for: Vegetarian, Lactose Free and Gluten Free. Also, a surprise awaits campers celebrating their birthday during the Camp. DAY CAMP OPTION Upon request and availability, we also offer the option to book a lighter version of the JTCamp. Choose be- tween 2 options: 2 options : 9am – 6pm or 9am – 9pm, either daily, or just a few days a week, you choose. We can also add breakfast, laundry, pick-up/drop-off service and so on, simply ask. To ensure that the Day camp is not interfering with our schedule and the cohesion of the group, we kindly ask parents to be punctual and also we require a minimum of 5 days. All of our partners hotel in the region offer the option to drive and pick your child up before / after activities (some for a fee). RULES AND REGULATION The JTCamp has very strict rules when it comes to respect and we will not hesitate to expel campers who do not adhere to our rules. We also expect from parents to read and understand these rules carefully. FOLLOWING THE PROGRAM All campers are obliged to follow the program and take part in all the activities. It is not possible to skip lan- guage classes or excursions for example, unless the parents are taking the campers out of the day, or a private lesson is organized. CONTACT WITH YOUR CHILD AND CELLPHONE POLICY Our office is open daily from 8 am to 21h30 and we are happy to transfer your calls to your child during meal times, 3x a day. Kindly understand also, that during outside activities such as BBQ, excursions, we cannot transfer calls. There is an emergency contact also 24/7. We do not pass the phones outside these hours, as we need to stick to our intensive program. It is a JTCamp policy to leave, upon checking-in, campers’ mobile phones with the front desk. They may subsequently be used twice a day for 15 mins. This includes tablets and any device capable of transmitting or receiving data. Although not recommended, cameras and mp3 players may be kept in the rooms. On Sunday we have a “no-cellphone” day. We highly recommend that the parents explain these rules to the campers. IMPORTANT LIVING TOGETHER Our Camp is guided by our rules that we believe in, and are non-negotiable. The foundation of these rules is Respect. We welcome a mix of nationalities and cultures and we expect each individual (staff included) to conduct themselves in a manner befitting a guest in a foreign country. We do not hesitate to expel campers who do not adhere to our rules. PAYMENT Each application must be accompanied by a downpayment of minimum 1500 sfr per child, no matter the duration and options chosen.
