The College of Letters & Science

 The largest of Berkeley’s 14 colleges and schools  Encompasses more than half of the entire campus’s faculty, ¾ of its undergraduate students (16,000), half of its Ph.D. candidates  Includes 80 departmental majors in the social sciences, arts and humanities, biological sciences, and physical sciences  Boasts 15 of the 22 Nobel Prizes on the campus, including four current faculty members Academics

Junior and Senior Years at Berkeley Berkeley Degree Requirements  Students must successfully complete 120 units of course work and satisfy all requirements of the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree. The course requirements are designed to ensure that you acquire the background and breadth you need for further learning and that you explore one subject in depth: your major.  There are requirements at the university, campus, college, and major levels. Majors The following majors at UC Berkeley are available to students who are in the Dual Degree Program:

•Economics* •Legal Studies •Environmental Economics and * •Philosophy •Ethnic Studies •Political Economy* •Gender and Women’s Studies • •Global Studies •Sociology •History

(* Economics, Environmental Economics and Policy, and Political Economy majors have a GPA cap that students must meet their first semester at Berkeley). In addition, dual degree students may select a major that builds on the specific strengths of the individual Sciences Po campus they attend. For example: Students from might choose: • East Asian Languages and Cultures Students from might additionally opt for: • Near Eastern Languages and Literatures Students who attend might select: • African American Studies Additional majors may also be possible, but require additional coursework at UC Berkeley taken outside of the regular program. Advising and Housing

 The College of Letters and Science will appoint advisors to assist students in their transition to undergraduate life at Berkeley and to provide advising on curricular planning throughout the program  Dual BA Direct students will be guaranteed housing while enrolled at Berkeley. Tuition and Fees

Final Two Years at Berkeley • Dual BA Direct Program students will pay the Berkeley rate for tuition and fees. • The total cost of attending Berkeley for the two-year Direct Program is approximately $140 000. Total cost will vary based on housing. For more information, see http://financialaid.berkeley.edu/cost-attendance • Neither Sciences Po nor Berkeley guarantees financial aid. • Students are responsible for paying all expenses related to this program. • It is therefore important to determine your ability to pay, before you apply to the program.
