Bienvenidos! Upon arrival to the Cusco International Airport, guests will be greeted by their dedicated staff and escorted to Belmond Palacio Nazarenas. Located within the heart of Cusco’s cultural center, this property serves as the perfect locale to explore the surrounding historical buildings, preserved Incan walls and the Plaza de Armas (main square). In late afternoon, the private guide will conduct a tour of the famed Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Site – a sprawling Incan Fortress perched above Cusco city. An exquisite dinner at the San Francisco Church & Museum will serve as a warm welcome to begin this adventure. The group will have exclusive use of the grounds as well as embark on a private tour escorted by a docent. Highlights of this venue include the bell tower, the third largest canvas painting in the world, ornate wooden carvings and a library featuring giant books. Wander through this magnificent religious center as the private guide delves deep into its history and explains the syncretism between the Andean pagan religion and Catholicism. A South American wine tasting within one of the most sought after restaurants in Cusco is to be facilitated by a seasoned sommelier. The initial stop will be at Awana Kancha, a sustainable initiative, to observe a native textile demonstration and get up close and personal with South American camelids. The first views of this sprawling valley will be accompanied by passionfruit mimosas from a scenic lookout. Guests are to then be transported to one of the most stunning haciendas in the valley for a peek into a multigenerational family farm. A private tour of the property, which specializes in the growing of giant white corn, will commence. A chic farm to table lunch will be served in the owner’s private residence and a Peruvian paso horse & dance show can be enjoyed by all.
