Also this new road will make life Donnell, Nigel Donnell, Phillip Donnell. exceptionally difficult for everyone being affected by it, especially the farmers who are losing most of their farms which no amount of compensation can justify, also the stress of moving livestock will prove challenging. This road would be of very little benefit to the widely dispersed community of County Tyrone, through which it would pass. This is chiefly because it is planned to have very limited access points. It will only be of real benefit to long distance travellers between Dublin and Co. Donegal, also the vast majority of County Tyrone vehicles will continue to use the present A5 road because of ease of access. Clearly in the present economic downturn Roads Service will be unable to afford to maintain or improve it, or indeed to salt it in winter. It is clear that no thought or consideration has been given to the preservation of the beauty and heritage of our countryside for the benefit of our future generation and for visitors to admire and be attracted to spend their vacations here. The charm of our countryside is its unspoilt beauty and the degree of care and careful management our farmers put into looking after it. It is outrageous that our government planners would even think of running this dual carriageway through miles of Flood plain on the Newbuildings end of the road, without a though to the havoc it will cause to habitat of the many species of wild life which live in or visit that area or other areas which the road will affect. Oil supplies throughout the world will very soon fail to meet the ever increasing demand, as vast countries like China and India become developed. This will cause oil prices to rocket and render road transport uneconomic. Then Southern Ireland will not be the only country with ghost roads. We too will have one running through Co Tyrone which will prove to be a totally avoidable burden on tax- payers. I would also like to comment on what will be done to reduce the noise that will impact on our everyday lifes, as this will be a great burden on everyone effected. Now is the time to stop this monster second road and get on with up- grading of the existing A5 as this would be a vastly cheaper option at this time of severe recession. Thank you for your time.

Yours sincerely
