CARMEN SUITE – Ballet in one act MUSIC: GEORGES BIZET/RODION SHCHEDRIN PETRUSHKA CHOREOGRAPHY: ALBERTO ALONSO Scene I: During a traditional festival in St. Petersburg, MUSICAL DIRECTION: PAVEL SOROKIN the crowd is astonished by a Magician who plays the CAST: SVETLANA ZAKHAROVA (CARMEN), DENIS RODKIN (JOSÉ), MIKHAIL LOBUKHIN (ESCAMILLO), flute and gives life to his puppets Petrushka, the VITALY BIKTIMIROV (CORREGIDOR), OLGA Ballerina and the Moor. MARCHENKOVA (FATE), AND THE BOLSHOI CORPS DE Scene II: After the show, the puppets return to the BALLET small theater. Petrushka is conscious of his loneliness and ugly appearance. He seeks consolation in his love PETRUSHKA – Ballet in one act for the Ballerina but she rejects him. MUSIC: IGOR STRAVINSKY Scene III: The Ballerina is attracted to the Moor and CHOREOGRAPHY: EDWARD CLUG dances to seduce him. Mad with jealousy, Petrushka MUSICAL DIRECTION: PAVEL KLINICHEV CAST: DENIS SAVIN (PETRUSHKA), EKATERINA tries to attack his rival but the Moor loses his temper KRYSANOVA (THE BALLERINA), ANTON SAVICHEV (THE and chases him.
