A condition of student entry to classes at Walton High is the wearing of full school uniform and strict adherence to our dress code. Parents are reminded that all students may only wear specified skirts and trousers and PE Kit.
Clearly labelling and naming your child’s clothing enables us to reunite lost property with its owner much more easily.

Girls’ Skirt
The only skirt accepted as part of the Walton High dress code is the David Luke stitched-down knife pleat skirt. The skirt length should either sit on, or just above the knee. Also, the skirt waistband is not to be rolled-up to make the skirt shorter.

The only trousers accepted as part of the Walton High dress code are the David Luke, black slim fit trousers (DL965) or David Luke, black regular fit trousers (DL968). A plain dark belt without an oversized buckle can be worn.

Girls’ Blazers and Jackets
Details of the David Luke Girls’ Blazer are given below. Black blazers may however be purchased from the supplier of your own choice. Blazers must be plain black with three patch pockets and fastened with two black buttons.

6 There is also a fitted black jacket as opposed to a loose blazer which may appeal to some female students. This is optional and you may choose to purchase a black blazer instead. Please note that this is the only fitted jacket that complies with our uniform code.

White blouse, either long or short sleeved, must button to collar Black socks with trousers Walton High jumper, optional, from £18.99 to £21.99 (size dependent) is available from Maisies Superstore Black tights or white socks with skirts. No trainer liners Black shoes – no trainers, boots or canvas shoes. For protection, the shoes should cover the top of the foot. The heel of the shoe should be no higher than 4cm. Kitten heels are not allowed

Hair should be presentable in style, avoiding extremes of fashion. Subtle natural looking highlights or hair dyed to look natural is acceptable, although Walton High would prefer hair not to be dyed. Hair extensions should be natural in colour. Long hair must be tied back. Hair bands/scrunchies must be plain black or burgundy. Make-up is not allowed for students in Year 7 to Year 9. Students in Year 10 and Year 11 may wear subtle make-up. If it is noticeable, it is not subtle! Nails: extensions are not allowed. Clear nail polish only may be worn. Piercings: only one small plain stud earring allowed in the lobe of each ear. No other piercing is allowed. Jewellery: no jewellery other than a wrist watch. Walton High does not have lesson bells, so wearing a watch is important. For safety and security reasons other jewellery should not be worn. Religious Headwear: a plain black or burgundy headscarf is acceptable and should be worn so that the face is fully visible.

The only school trousers accepted as part of the Walton High dress code are either David Luke, black belted trousers (DL959), or David Luke, black elasticated waist trousers (DL957). Free School Meals Students who are currently eligible for Free School Meals when admitted to Walton High are provided with the following uniform for their first year in school. We invite parents to contact our Finance Team on 01908 677954 to take up this offer.
For parents on a low income, or for those who may find it difficult to purchase school uniform outright, parents are advised to contact our Finance Team on 01908 677954 to discuss payment options.
Lost Property If your child loses an item of clothing or other personal possession, please encourage them to check whether it is being held by Student Services where all lost property is kept. Across the course of a term, a significant amount of lost property is recovered. It is not possible to retain the volumes for long periods of time. It is therefore our intention to take unclaimed lost property collected across the course of a term to a local charity shop during the second week of the following term.
