Letters from Isle of Anglesey Chief Executive Annwen Morgan, Huw Percy Head of Highways are rather disappointing as they do not even offer an opinion as to the merits or not of the creation of a Multiuse Path across the island & the potential benefits it could bring, from health, fitness, disabled & adaptive cycling & many other uses other than just tourism, which at best the Heritage Railway can only offer a very narrow benefit to the island. It is rather at odds that the Anglesey Local Access Forum (a subcommittee of the Council) who we presented our scheme to in November which gave Lôn Las Môn a unanimous vote of approval. As have three Community Councils along its route. As this is a scheme to be run by Lôn Las Môn CIC, we are not looking for Isle of Anglesey to run or manage the project, we just need their support and not to oppose clearly what would be a benefit to the island and a whole. 2. We are aware of the consultation between Network Rail & the Welsh Government on the proposed lease of the railway in June 2016 with an associated 3 month rolling termination provision. -

A guide and list to a collection of Historic Railway Documents www.railarchive.org.uk to e mail click here December 2017 1 Since July 1971, this private collection of printed railway documents from pre grouping and pre nationalisation railway companies based in the UK; has sought to expand it‟s collection with the aim of obtaining a printed sample from each independent railway company which operated (or obtained it‟s act of parliament and started construction). There were over 1,500 such companies and to date the Rail Archive has sourced samples from over 800 of these companies. Early in 2001 the collection needed to be assessed for insurance purposes to identify a suitable premium. The premium cost was significant enough to warrant a more secure and sustainable future for the collection. In 2002 The Rail Archive was set up with the following objectives: secure an on-going future for the collection in a public institution reduce the insurance premium continue to add to the collection add a private collection of railway photographs from 1970‟s onwards provide a public access facility promote the collection ensure that the collection remains together in perpetuity where practical ensure that sufficient finances were in place to achieve to above objectives The archive is now retained by The Bodleian Library in Oxford to deliver the above objectives. This guide which gives details of paperwork in the collection and a list of railway companies from which material is wanted. The aim is to collect an item of printed paperwork from each UK railway company ever opened. -

Attractions in Staffordshire The border between Stafordshire and Derbyshire is the River Dove so only a few hundred yards awa. It runs north to south. Below is a modified copy of the index to the folder normally found in the cottages full of 40 leaflets of attractions in Staffordshire . I have deleted some of the listings in the index as I consider it is unlikely they will be opening by the time of your stay, but others that are for time being closed, I have kept in as I am guessing there is a chance they might open up. Some of the attractions have been open throughout the lockdown (eg Manifold Valley, others are opening up in July and I have indicated those whose administrators have given no indication of when they are opening up. Scope of the report. The Thorne Moors Vertebrates Report 2013 is an unusually long report, not least because it continues the process of making Thorne Moors vertebrates recording as up-to-date as possible. Thus the Report contains elements beyond the routine 2013 components. Also, notice is given of a working paper on the deer of Thorne Moors, published separately in May 2014. Ever since 2012, an attempt has been made to catch up with backlogs of records and monitoring. This overall process began in the Thorne Moors Vertebrates Report 2012, and continues in the current Report. The last Report to include reptile data was that for 2008. The Thorne Moors Vertebrates Report 2013 catches up by detailing additional reptile records for 2007–08 and all reptile records 2009–12. The recorder is Steve Hiner. The present Report otherwise contains accounts of birds, mammals, herptiles and fish in 2013. Also, available additions and corrections to the Reports for 2008–12 (excluding reptiles) are listed in full.
