For a very specific audience and lousy quality products Mars is a common experience. The title of the book will probably mislead people into thinking that this book is about learning postures when in fact it's just a book of poses, 1000 examples of extreme poses to be specific. Coco Rocha, if you don't know, this is a Canadian model. Together with photographer Stephen Sebring, they released a book of 1,000 poses. The premise is interesting enough for me to get it. 1000 poses! They can be good for reference. But there is a big caveat. Let's talk about the physical aspect of the book first. This 2032-page hardcover is about 7 by 9 inches. It's very thick and heavy. The edges of the pages are printed in black. Most pages stick together. By the time I exfoliate pages apart, reaching about a hundred pages, I was very tired, at two hundred pages, I was annoyed, and on three hundred pages I reflected on the production value of this book. Yes, you will have plenty of time to think about things while peeling pages. Those people who say it's a good book may not have peeled more pages than me yet. And because the pages are so thin, it's easy to fold them while peeling them apart. The quality of the book's products is pretty poor. For the price of the book, it's very bad. I would also point out that publisher Harper Design is known for publishing illustrated books such as The Hobbit Movie Companions, the 532-page Harry Potter Page on screen and the 464-page Art of Movie Magic, which have all the quality of production. It's pretty shocking to see a book of such quality products from them. The binding is also questionable. The book uses a binding stitch, thank goodness. However, a piece of fabric that sticks to stitched binding doesn't seem to use particularly strong glue. I took the book the wrong way, holding the side of the spine and the pages pulled down causing the fabric to separate from the stitched binding. Not good. I've since pushed the fabric back to make it stick again and it looks good at the moment.
