Pressemitteilung zu Holding Absence Die Post-Hardcore-Band Holding Absence ist am 21.02.2021 live im Headcrash in Hamburg zu Gast Hamburg, Mai 2020 – Gleich Anfang 2021, und zwar im Februar, kommen Holding Absence nach Deutschland. Am 21.02.2021 machen sie Halt im Headcrash in Hamburg. Macht Euch bereit für einen unglaublichen Abend! Mittlerweile ist doch schon wieder etwas Zeit vergangen, seit das Debütalbum „Holding Absence“ der in 2016 in Cardiff gegründeten Post-Hardcore-Band veröffentlicht wurde. Vor kurzem erschien ihre neuste Single „Birdcage“ – und man munkelt, dass auch ein neues Album in der Mache sei – wird dürfen also gespannt sein! Bereits ein Jahr nach ihrer Gründung wurde die Band von Sharptone Records unter Vertrag genommen und so kam es auch, dass in 2018 die erste Europatour, zusammen mit der Nu- Metal-Band Loathe absolviert werden konnte. Nach und nach wurden auch andere Bands und immer mehr Fans auf das Quintett aus Wales aufmerksam und es folgten weitere Europatouren mit Being As An Ocean oder auch Counterparts. Im Februar 2021 sind die Waliser dann endlich wieder auf Tour und man darf sich auf Emotionalitäten der besonderen Klasse gefasst machen, denn hier treffen beruhigende und eingängige Gesangsparts auf schnelle und befreiende Refrains. Obendrauf gibt es noch Wargasm und Static Dress, die den Support-Part übernehmen. Eine Partie, die man also nicht ablehnen sollte! ABSTRACT AN EVOCATION OF THE REVOLUTION: THE PAINTINGS OF JOHN TRUMBULL AND THE PERCEPTION OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION by Cody Nicholas Hefner This paper utilizes the paintings of John Trumbull, an artist who served in the Revolutionary War and rubbed elbows with the most influential men of the Revolutionary generation: John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington. These paintings, shaped by the social and political atmosphere they were created in, have shaped the perception and memory of the American Revolution in a very particular way. This paper seeks to determine that perception by analyzing Trumbull himself, the political culture of the 1780s to 1820s, and the art world of the same period to better understand Trumbull’s most influential paintings and the effect they had and still have on American memory. Through the examination of John Trumbull’s paintings and their impact on the memory of the American Revolution, this paper serves as a case study for the use of images in historical understanding.
