Tonke Dragt (b. 1930) is one of the best-known and most widely read Publisher Leopold children’s writers in the Netherlands. Her second book, De brief voor de koning (published in English as ), became a bestseller and is now a classic. All of her books have been a great success. They have been translated into dozens of languages, and most of them have remained in print. Tonke Dragt has written both historical and futuristic novels and describes herself as a born storyteller.
