ACTED  Hygiene promotion and awareness creation plus distributed hygiene kits to 1,000 HH mainly to the newly arrival IDP’s and host communities in Howlwadag section of Baidoa following the agreed action points from the RICCG meeting of February in collaboration with the WASH cluster  Rehabilitation of 15 water catchment in rural and urban in partnership with PASOS. Namely: Awdinle, Bareey, lawili ikow, Bulla nassib, Gobweyne, Jafey, El-adow, Adabli ade, Kuusow and Makudi.  Water trucking and distribution of hygiene kit to 1,500 HH in 19 rural villages in namely Bareey, lawili ikow, Bulla nassib, Gobweyne, Jafey, El-adow, Adabli ade, Kuusow, Makudi, Haween, Buula kulun, Goofdhuubow, Danbal, Faado, gurubooy, Mooshi, oore-baley, Qeydare and Gurigaab.  Identified 19 CHP in the above 19 rural villages of Baidoa district.  AWD awareness/ hygiene promotion messages through mobile SMS

GREDO  Conducting water trucking in 8 IDPs, 1 for Bay regional Hospital and 1 for Bay haw Hospital and 2 for Gofgadud shabellow  Hygiene promotion campaign in 4 IDPs(Mahadalle, wadajir 3, Bulofullay and Yaiyowkoyow)  Transfer of hygiene messages through local radio

AWD cholera AWD situation in Baidoa significantly decreased, but the worst affected situation in Baidoa areas is Nebsoy,Manas, Dafad, Gorisane, Botis Gofgadud shabellow, and other locations in Gof gadud Burey, Audinle and its sarounding villages, Burdhuhunle Bay and Bakool and its sub-surrounding villages in Wajid district, Qansahdhere, Burhakaba. Most of these areas remain under the control of AS group.

NB There is no ongoing response in Gofgadud Burey, Audinle, Qansahdhere, Diinsor, Part of Gof gadud Shabelow, Berdale district and Bakool region region.

Gaps in current response

 Lack of coordination proper coordination between the task force led by DG SWS MoH  Vast majority of people who lacks access to basic sanitation live in rural areas. Most of the Agencies benefited from the emergency fund are concentrating in urban residents.  Chlorination of water point in the rural villages  Distribution of hygiene kits+strengthening hygiene awareness  Restriction of capturing photos during distribution by AS groups.  Water crisis especially some part of Bakool region.  Additional community health porters training.

 The worst affected areas by drought is Xudur, Tiyeglow,  20mins. Drought situation in Rabdhure,Waajid,Berdale, Goof-Gaduud Shabelow, Baidoa and locations Goof GaduudBuurey,Awdinle,Buurhakaba and in Bay and Bakool. Burey(report from participants). Most of the affected locations in Bakool remain cut offdue to the imposed blockade on the main routes leading in and out of the main towns and this will result in significant consequences for populations in those locations.  Wide spread water scarcity has been reported as water catchments have dried up and water levels in the wells File name: Page 7 WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) CLUSTERMINUTES FOR BAY & BAKOOL REGIONAL WASH MEETING Somalia has decreased. As a result of the water shortage, water prices have reportedly increased in the affected locations. In addition, pastoralist migration trends as well drought related displacement and loss of livestock has been observed.

The chair emphasizes the partners to follow the right procedures when Any other Business. requesting hygiene kits. It is mandatory for requesting partner to follow the stipulated procedures
