Highlights • On 18 August 2013, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of - announced that the total number of Syrians registered and assisted in 20 camps in 10 provinces was 201,010, including 518 Syrians receiving medical treatment in hospitals. AFAD reported that during the weekend of 16-18 Aug. 2,484 Syrians were admitted and registered in the camps while 1,876 Syrians voluntarily returned to .

• According to information from AFAD, as of 18 Aug 2013, almost 361,000 Syrians were registered in the camps, while about 160,000 have voluntarily returned from the camps to Syria since the beginning of the crisis.

• AFAD reported that since the beginning of the crisis almost 1.4 million poli-clinical services (average of 5,200 per day) were provided to Syrians in the camps, of which about 250,000 cases have been referred to hospitals in various towns. Reportedly as of 18 Aug 2013, more than 25,500 medical operations were performed and 5,369 births were recorded in the hospitals since the beginning of the crisis.

• UNHCR Field Teams were informed by local officials that the number of non-camp Syrians registered and enumerated by AFAD and local police, including those issued temporary residence permits (Ikamets) in 10 provinces of 20 camps and reached almost 240,000. Of thse almost 51% were registered by the two AFAD Coordination Centers in Sanliurfa and Gaziantep provinces. Local officials in Kilis informed UNHCR that they are waiting for the mobile registration units with the database from AFAD Hq. to conduct a proper Legend registration of non-camp Syrians in Kilis province. In Mardin the local officials enumerated more than 22,000 Syrians living in . In Hatay the police reportedly enumerated more than 46,000 Syrians living Military Defectors in Hatay city center () and other towns. Current Tent Camps Antakya • It was reported in the national media that a 3 year-old child died and two were injured in a tent fire in Current Container Altinozu Boynugun Camp in . Reportedly the cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit.
