Women & Children (Boys&Girls <18 years) Men 18 years and above Highlights ● On 11 December 2013, AFAD - the Disaster and Emergency Management Agency of Government of Turkey - announced that the total number of Syrians registered and assisted in 21 camps and one transit center in 10 provinces was 206,669 including 152 Syrians receiving medical treatment in hospitals. AFAD reported that during the 24 hrs. of 10-11 Dec. 2013 895 Syrians were admitted and registered in the camps and 341 Syrians have voluntarily returned to Syria.
● On 11 Dec 2013, UNHCR teams traveled to all four camps in Sanliurfa province, which were all snowed Malatya under. It was also reported by local officials that the camps in Adiyaman, Mardin Midyat and in both Beydagi Yayladagi in Hatay were also covered by snow . In Kilis province local officials closed down the public 7,181 schools in city center due to the weather conditions. Local officials in the camps informed UNHCR Teams that they are doing their best to ensure the daily life is not affected by the snow. However in Ceylanpinar camp, officials requested their urgent need for heaters and blankets while they are also K.Maras doing their utmost to repair broken heaters from the last winter. While UNHCR has delivered 2,550 Adıyaman heaters to Mardin and Malatya camps over the past weeks, UNHCR now working on the urgent delivery of 3,800 heaters to provide to Ceylanpinar camp. In total UNHCR will procure 52,550 electric heaters for Merkez Merkez 15,131 10,157 the refugees in the camps. Furthermore UNHCR is procuring 150,000 sets of winter clothing for Syrian Adana Midyat 3,148 children in the camps (ages 0-17) and high thermal blankets for 240,000 refugees. For vulnerable Mardin refugees outside of the camps UNHCR has distributed some 4,000 coal/ wood stoves in Hatay province. Osmaniye Şanlıurfa
● In Hatay, local officials have not yet start the registration of non-camp Syrians, however the Cevdetiye Gaziantep Nizip 2 8,900 Nizip 1 5,100 Saricam 11,633 enumeration is on-going through local police in towns and gendarmerie in rural areas. As of 11 Dec. 11,724 Islahiye Harran Kokenli 9,749 Kilis Barınma Alanı 14,137 2013, over 70,000 non-camp Syrians have reportedly been enumerated in Hatay province. According to 2,343 Karkamis Ceylanpinar Kilis 7,702 Akcakale 21,134 the figures provided by local officials, 82% of those are living in towns and city center of Antakya while 26,313 Elbeyli Besiriye 18% of the total were enumerated by gendarmerie in the villages of Hatay. Among the towns of Hatay, Kilis - Oncupinar 21,924 Legend 14,040 Reyhanli with 30% of the total has the biggest population of non-camp Syrians in Hatay province. Antakya Military Defectors Camp UNHCR Field Office Antakya ● In Viransehir camp, officials informed UNHCR that the number of Syrians accommodated in the camp Current Tent Camps UNHCR Team reached 1,700 persons. Reportedly there are more than 4,000 tents in the camp, 400 of which are Altinozu 2 Altinozu 1 2,825 Current Container Camps occupied. The new arrivals are provided lunch boxes upon arrival and families are accommodated in 1,566 Container Camps Under tents after the registration, medical screening and vaccinations are given as necessary to children Yayladagi 1 Yayladagi 2 (including polio).
