Fudan University Exchange Program

Program Overview In this unique program hosted by UNC Wilmington, North Carolina students have the chance to study at Fudan University in , , and in exchange, Fudan University students have the opportunity to study at one of the participating North Carolina public institutions. Academics Fudan consists of 28 schools and departments, with seventy undergraduate and over 200 master’s degree disciplines. Students who study at Fudan can take courses in biology, business, chemistry, communication studies, computer science, economics, history, journalism, mathematics, philosophy, physics, political science, international relations, management, social sciences, and Chinese (Mandarin) language and culture. Students not proficient in Mandarin can choose from a range of courses taught in English. The Chinese language track offers all levels of instruction.

Student Life In addition to taking classes, the program participants will get several opportunities to learn more about Chinese culture and see surrounding parts of the city. Students can also participate in activities like Tai Chi, a calligraphy course, and learning to make the Chinese dumpling, Jaiozi.

With a population of over 24 million, Shanghai is one of China’s and the world’s most well-known cities. Sitting along the Huangpu River, the city boasts both colonial and futuristic buildings and a stunning skyline along the waterfront. Attractions include the , the , Yu Garden, and much more. Housing CHINA Students will be housed in either a single or double room with Shanghai other international students in either the main or supplementary buildings that make up the Fudan Foreign Students Dormitory. Every room is equipped with a balcony, air-conditioning, and Internet access. Participants will share a kitchen and laundry room, and will either have a private or shared bathroom. A mini supermarket, gym, and cafeteria are all located near the international student housing.
