The Remarks/ meeting was chaired by Abdirashid Mohamed Isse Health and Nutrition Introduction Officer at SDRO and South Galkayo Nutrition Focal Point. The meeting was closed opened with recitation of the holy Quran verses. The focal point thanked the participants for their participation and timing. CESVI

CESVI is running nutrition interventions in 10 villages in south Mudug region. 5 of the villages are under and another 5 are under district. The

donors for the projects are DFID and AICS.

Program Update & Routing achievement:

In January 2020 Cesvi achieved to: 1. Screen: 1349 children 2. Admit SAM: 52 3. Admit MAM: 120

IRC

Program Update and routine activities

IRC is providing integrated health and nutrition outreach services in Bitaale, Qarqora, Rasan, Xingudan and Dawaaf villages under South Galkacyo district.

The activities Include; Malnutrition screening, Provision of nutrition services through outpatient therapeutic programmes (OTPs) and supplementary feeding programmes (SFPs) to manage acute malnutrition among under-fives , Referral of SAM cases with complications to the Stabilization Centers ,Routine micronutrient supplementation with Ferro folic, vitamin A and zinc and Consultations for children under five children ,above five and adults treating common morbidities. Detection, prevention and treatment of AWD and suspected measles cases

Below are the beneficiaries reached during the month of Jan 2020  13 SAM cases with no complication treated in the OTP program

 165 individuals reached with IYCF promotion messages  316 OPD consultations conducted during Jan 2020

SDRO

SDRO is running 3 nutrition projects namely, TSFP, BSFP and MCHN, 16 sites of TSFP and 3 of them are fixed others are mobile, 2 sites of MCHN and 3 sites of BSFP in partnership with WFP and SHF.

Program Update& Routine achievement: All the Nutrition activities are running well. In the reporting period of December 2019. Admitted (U5-TSFP: 1,098, PLW-TSFP: 333, U2-MCHN: 1,844, PLW-MCHN: 722) Cured ( U5- TSFP: 1,338, PLW-TSFP: 353, U2-MCHN:784, PLW-MCHN: 637)

MCHN: 992, U2-BSFP: 3,841, PLW-BSFP: 480 ).

Challenges: All the nutrition services were ongoing smoothly per the working modalities and no reportable challenges encountered.

IMC

International Medical Corps is running Four nutrition programs in the region which are SC, OTP, TSFP and BSFP under the OFDA, ECHO and IFRP grants, in OFDA grant, it supports one fixed OTP and 9 nine OTPs which are visited by mobile teams on weekly based, under ECHO grant, it supports one fixed SC, OTP and TSFP (Both children and PLW) in GAS hospital, for the response the burden of malnutrition rate in Galkayo district, IMC has commenced a BSFP project for the children (6-36 months) and PLWs who is malnutrition at-risk plus children (6-59 months) who were transferred from other nutrition programs through the funding of IFRP.

Program Update&Routing achievement:

 In the reporting period, IMC has successfully conducted a monthly sensitization meeting for M2M support group mothers in all sites.

 A total of 130 severe malnourished children with no medical complications have been managed in all the IMC OTP sites compared to 106 Severe malnourished children with medical complication managed in IMC SC, while 51 moderately malnourished children and PLW has been admitted to the IMC TSFP in Galkayo south hospital.  Through Family MUAC strategy, IMC has trained a total of 78 mothers on how to screen their children by using MUAC tape.  On IYCF counselling sessions both individual & group counselling, IMC has reached a total of 533 mothers in all sites. Challenges:

 Shortage of anthropometric equipment especially weight machine & Height board.

MercyUSA

Mercy-USA currently is running 14 sites of TSFP and 3 sites of MCHN programs which are funded by WFP and OTP & SC programs partner with UNICEF.

Program Update & Routing achievement: 14 TSFP Sites: Wisil, Wargalo,Bacadweyne,Bajela,Bud-Bud,El-dibir,El-gula, Galbarwaqo, Gawan,Herodhagahlay,Hobyo,Kalabayr,Qaranrow and Qaydaro. 10 OTP Sites and two outreach: Wisil,Bacadweyne,Bajela,BudBud,El-dibir,El-gula, Gawan,Herodhagahlay,Hobyo and Qaranrow. And ONE SC for Hobyo town

Total new admission of SC 5. Total new admission of OTP 105. Total new admission of TSPF 463. Total new admission of MCHN 324.

Challenges: No challenges in the reporting period.

SAF-UK

SAF-UK has currently running integrated program of health and nutrition for MAM and MCHN funded by SHF and WFP from May-2019 for the following villages: Af-barwaqo, Dhinoda, Cel-dhanane, Qori-weyn/Xingod, Cade bubal, Galhagog, and Buq-qaloc under the .

Program Update & Routing achievement:

SAF-UK has admitted during registration period for January-2020 for the following categories: BSFP: Under two years= 110. PLWs: 72. MAM cases: Under five years: 16. PLWs: 6.

Challenges: OTP program funded by Unicef was ended by August-2019, although recently have amount of RUTF that we managed SAM cases.

CISP

CISP running currently 1 functional site which is Gawaan village (Hobyo) MCHN program which is funded by Italian cooperation one fixed and one mobile outreach team.

Program Update: Routine activities Include; Malnutrition screening, Provision of nutrition services through outpatient therapeutic programmes (OTPs) to manage acute malnutrition among under-fives , Referral of SAM cases with complications to the Stabilization Centers, counseling and other components of IMAM package. Also routine vaccines and treatment of any other diseases.

Routing achievement: In January 2020 we admit 89 SAM cases in Gawaan and give treatment, vaccines and other service include IMAM package, also we refer 7cases of SAM with complications to the SC

Challenges: Shortage of Plumpy'nut due to delay of supply.

DEH

DEH is currently running two nutrition projects with 8 sites of TSFP & 4 sites of MCHN, supported by WFP and SHF in south Hobyo. The SHF supported project covered 2 fixed sites (Hobyo and Xinlabi) and two mobile sites (Xinbarwaaqo and seego), the WFP FLA 2019 was ended and we’re waiting for new FLA in 2020.

Program Update & Routing achievement:

In January we conducted IYCF session to hundred women in south hobyo to ensure community awareness to the good breastfeeding practices,

In screening we have admitted U5= 107, PLW=58 for SHF supported project.

Challenges: Shortage of ration and flow up cards
