Last year, 2007, Andreas was our tech- nicalE advisor, authoring several articles for the newsletter; answering individual mem- ber’s questions emailed to him and was the head judge at the 44th June Jamboree. Not surprisingly, Andreas volunteered to serve as our new Vice President for 2008-09. He will continue with his responsibility as Technical Advisor, will work with the judges in Montvale and plan the tire-kicking sessions as he has done in the past. Thank you, Andreas, this honor belongs to you. NNJS scored a touchdown with its Kick Off meeting on January 26 at the Top Notch Restaurant in Madison, NJ. Members came adorned in their sports and car finery – topping the list included Joan Donnelly’s hat adorned with model Mercedes-Benzes and Valerie Cristiano’s Giants paraphernalia including Giants earrings and watch (Go Big Blue!!!) - got the event off to a lively start. Members introduced themselves to one another and en- gaged in lively conversations. Doug Ochwat, Andreas Molde, Bob Wegner, Lucille Chabala, and Valerie Cris- tiano presented some of the upcoming events to those in attendance. Bob Wegner has arranged for us to have our own Mercedes-Benz Section in an adjacent lot featuring our cars not for competition in the AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) event, but for our own enjoyment in showing them to others. Accordingly, any Mercedes-Benz vehicle, regardless of age may be shown. As spectators and not entrants in the event we will have the opportunity to show our Mercedes-Benz and to view over 200 classic cars at least 25 years old and each absolutely magnificent. lan to arrive at 10:00 AM and stay to 2:30.
