This one solves both issues and eliminates a lot of Popular Mechanics EDITOR'S CHOICE guesswork with a single hole that adjusts as you squeeze Award - in recognition of outstanding the rubber-coated handles.” achievement in new product design Newsday -- January 19, 2006 “Because of its wrap-around grip, it won't strip corners like conventional wrenches and pliers.” iF - International Forum Design Star Telegram (Dallas/Fort Worth)/Detroit News -- Award, Germany February 25, 2006 “Gimmick tools don't usually impress me. And at first glance, the new Bionic Wrench might seem like another one of those made-for-TV specials. But it is actually a solid tool Good Design Award - an International that really works…The Bionic Wrench is far superior to Industrial and Graphic Design Award regular pliers or an adjustable wrench – and you don’t have from the Chicago Athenaeum to worry whether the nut is metric or standard-sized.” The Charlotte Observer -- March 11, 2006 “The Bionic Wrench from LoggerHead Tools teams the Red Dot Award - Best of the Best for versatility of an adjustable wrench with the simplicity of pioneering design in a category pliers. The wrench won't slip or round off nuts or bolts. In fact, it can often remove fasteners damaged by other wrenches.” The Wall Street Journal -- March 21, 2006 Chicago Innovation Award - the “In two of this year's noted international design year’s most innovative new products competitions, only two U.S. companies took home highest and services honors for their products. One, predictably, was giant Apple Computer Inc. for its sleek, high-tech iPod Nano music player. The other was a tiny unknown Illinois upstart named LoggerHead Tools LLC.” Arkansas Democrat Gazette -- April 1, 2006 Patents “As easy to use as a pair of pliers. Excellent gripping action of jaws means wrench won’t slip off and damage bolt.” The United States Patent Office awarded LoggerHead Tools U.S. Pittsburgh Tribune-Review -- April 13, 2006 Patent No. 6,889,579. “It's innovative, it's a fun tool, we were struck by its fresh take on the wrench," said Roy Berendsohn, senior home editor at (Popular Mechanics). “The wrench is among the most closely examined of hand tools, and you would think Public Relations that, by now, everything that could be done with a wrench had been done. But this was a fresh take, the sort of tool that you pick up and say 'wow!'.” Media requests can be directed to [email protected] . Chicago Sun-Times -- May 16, 2006 “Think about it as (Dan) Brown did: a wrench that would http://loggerheadtools.com/?main_page=news 1/23/2013 loggerheadtools, Home of the Bionic Wrench EXHIBIT F Page 2 of 3 not just provide a couple of pincers but would totally Manufacturing envelope the little nut it’s attacking…Simple? Maybe. But through the years, not even giant tool makers thought of the concept.” Did you know that Loggerhead Tools products are: The Denver Post -- June 11, 2006 Designed and manufactured to exceed ANSI “This Father's Day, show him you care enough to choose the scorchingly hottest gifts… Make your dad feel like The Manufactured in an ISO/TS 16949: 2002 approved facility. Six Million Dollar Man with a bionic wrench set from Quality made in the U.S.A. LoggerHead Tools. Not only do these handy gizmos combine Guaranteed forever wrenches and pliers, they also replace most metric wrench sizes.” We are proud of our manufacturing partner, Penn United Technologies Inc. and their long history of manufacturing Star-Telegram (Dallas/Fort Worth)/Detroit News -- excellence. July 15, 2006 “Having scored big with its Bionic Wrench, LoggerHead Tools is following up with the Bionic Grip, pliers that are based on the same design as the introductory tool. “Like its cousin, the Grip has four serrated jaw surfaces that grab a fastener head and won't let go. It is a cross between an adjustable wrench and a pair of pliers and provides the user with amazing torque.” Magazines BusinessWeek -- October 2005 “Because it applies force only to the side surfaces, it won’t strip the corners the way conventional wrenches or pliers do.” Taunton’s Tool Guide 2006 “LoggerHead Tools just put itself on the map with the Bionic Wrench…It’s an ingenious design.” Better Homes and Gardens Wood -- January 2006 “No more chasing down the right size open-ended or box wrench (or guessing between English or metric) with the Bionic Wrench from LoggerHead Tools.” do! Magazine -- May 2006 “Now there can be one less tool in your toolbox. Get better use out of an adjustable wrench – blend it with pliers.” Woman’s World -- June 20, 2006 “Easy grip handles loosen any bolt with ease.” Network World -- June 26, 2006 “This is a wrench with a difference: It is infinitely adjustable, like your regular adjustable wrench – but far more effective. You also stand a lot less chance of stripping the skin from your knuckles, as often happens when a regular adjustable wrench loses its grip.” Boating Life -- June 2006 “This next-gen tool spoiled us. It’s adjustable to 14 sizes with a simple squeeze.” This Old House -- July 2006 “This second-generation Bionic tool (Bionic Grip) has a locking grip, so you don’t need Superman’s strength to keep the four serrated jaws engaged as you turn.” Rainy Day (Internet Magazine) -- July 2006 “This tool (The Bionic Grip) is just the thing for every Makers' and Tinkerers' tool chest. The Bionic Wrench and the Bionic Grip are the first tools we reach for, if they work for the job, we use them...if not, then we look for something else. “How will the traditional tools compare to the Bionic Grip? We rounded up three representative tools (adjustable wrench, pliers, pipe wrench) to go head-to-head with the Bionic Grip. …The surface contact of the traditional tools are less compared to the Bionic Grip. The larger surface contact translates directly to more torque applied to the turning or force in the grip.” Innovative Home -- Fall 2006 “The Bionic Wrench does not round off corners as do some traditional pliers and wrenches, and the product’s design protects the tool from slipping off and damaging the bolt.” http://loggerheadtools.com/?main_page=news 1/23/2013 loggerheadtools, Home of the Bionic Wrench EXHIBIT F Page 3 of 3 Copyright © 2006 :: LOGGERHEAD TOOLS :: 1-888 LOGGERHEAD :: [email protected] HOME ][ ABOUT US ][ APPLICATIONS ][ PRODUCTS ][ BUY NOW ][ NEWS & PRESS ][ WRENCHERS CLUB ][ CONTACT Website Design Copyright © 2006 LoggerHeadTools.com http://loggerheadtools.com/?main_page=news 1/23/2013 red dot online: Daniel Brown EXHIBIT F Page 1 of 3 home my red dot Deutsch news about us institute designaward museums store red dot news Newsletter dates design news archive news archive Daniel Brown Cooperation partners: Bionic Wrench™ http://en.red-dot.org/1839.html 1/23/2013 red dot online: Daniel Brown EXHIBIT F Page 2 of 3 06/21/2006 The best designers of the red dot award: product design 2006: Daniel Brown Well-designed tools harmonise with human motions – as does, for example, the “Bionic Wrench™” by the US-American designer Daniel Brown which received the award “red dot: best of the best”. Daniel Brown opened up to us about his views on the “constancy of a good form”: "For me, “the durability of a good form” begins with the user’s initial reaction to your design. Strong positive emotional experiences validate the designer’s effort in creating a distinctive product that is both attention-grabbing and potentially enduring. The best designs are built upon problem-solving strategies that creatively blend innovative function with universal aesthetics. Classic examples of these designs stand the test of time. They elicit a strong emotional reaction from users and encompass a purity and simplicity of form and function that differentiate them from their competition. At the beginning of a project, opportunity and creativity unite to create a vision in the innovation process. Optimising this relationship is the creative evolutionary practice that must be mastered to exceed user expectations. When achieved, these visionary distinctions sustain themselves over time and lead to enduring emotional connections with one’s audience. Ultimately, the best of these design efforts become iconic winners in the marketplace, and examples of “the durability of a good form.”" One-handed – designed logic Well-designed tools harmonise with the movements of the human body – they correspond to the logic of the body and complement them. We use tools after all because there are certain things we cannot complete with our hands alone – unlike machines, however, tools cannot be set to operate independent of human control. The Bionic Wrench™ is a functionally designed wrench that combines a movement of the body with highly self-explanatory tool logic. As an adjustable all-around wrench for the household, it conforms and adapts to a variety of nuts and bolts that require tightening or loosening and, in doing so, prevents the corners of the bolts from shearing off – a common problem with other pliers and spanners. Moreover, this tool is well suited for removing fasteners and bolts that have already been damaged, thus solving yet another problem. When the handles of the tool are squeezed together, six hardened steel jaws converge and firmly grab a nut or bolt on all sides.

In making their recommendation, the Independent Directors have carefully considered a full range of expert advice available to them. Therefore you should take no action. The principal reasons for recommending that shareholders do not accept are: _ Having regard to a full range of expert advice now available to the Independent Directors (including the Independent Adviser’s valuation range of $1.28 to $1.57 per FPA Share), the Independent Directors consider that the Offer of $1.20 per FPA Share does not adequately reflect their view of the value of FPA based on their confidence in the strategic direction of the Company; and _ FPA is in a strong financial position and, as the Independent Adviser notes, FPA is at a “relatively early stage of implementation of the company’s comprehensive rebuilding strategy”.

JOINT INDUSTRY COMMENTS on WEEE2 Draft Implementing Regulation establishing a Common Methodology for the Calculation of “the weight of EEE placed on the national market in each Member State” and a Common Methodology for the Calculation of the “Quantity of WEEE Generated by Weight in each Member State” Brussels, 7 February 2017 In view of the upcoming vote on 13th February 2017 of the members of the Technical Adaptation Committee, we would like to provide the following observations on the latest draft Commission Implementing Regulation establishing a common methodology for the calculation of “the weight of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) placed on the national market in each Member State” and a common methodology for the calculation of “the quantity of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) generated by weight in each Member State”: • We thank the Commission for its efforts to establish common methodologies both for the calculation EEE POM and WEEE generated collection targets. On the one hand, these methodologies are crucial to ensure a clear and harmonised implementation of the collection target in each Member State. On the other hand, it is essential that the methodologies lead to fair targets, which are based on objective, clear and transparent criteria. Member States are of course free to choose, which of the two approaches they use to demonstrate the achievement of the collection rate from 2019 onwards. • We fully support the following changes made by the Commission compared to the 2015 draft version: o Calculation of the weight of EEE placed on the market of a Member State (POM) – Article 3 of the Draft Implementing Regulation: it is now clear that the first source of information is the information provided by the producers.

  • CECED Comments on ACER FG on Electricity Balancing
25 June 2012 CECED input to the Consultation on ACER’S Framework Guidelines on Electricity Balancing Smart Grids are considered one of the key investment areas for a sustainable future: they are a tool for optimising energy production and usage by exploiting flexibility in the supply and demand of electricity. On the demand side, household appliances count for about 30% of energy consumption in residential premises, therefore they are one of the best candidates to become “smart”, i.e. built to interact with Smart Grids. CECED1 represents the household appliance industry, a relevant partner in the development of Smart Grids in Europe. We believe that as more and more appliances become smart, a significant curtailment of consumption will be possible upon request at collective or individual level. It implies a contribution to grid balancing through implementation of Demand-Response programs. In short, if well managed, smart appliances can allow the consumer to play a significant role in controlling the demand side with minimum impact on his/her needs and habits in a properly designed smart grid. CECED is convinced that demand-side resources will play a major role in the stability and performance of future European energy networks if relevant decisions are taken with respect to system requirements. Such decisions will have significant implications, at political, technical, and economic levels for consumers and the development of demand side resources’ market in Europe. The rules for trading the provision of system balancing services, including power reserve rules, should allow for demand side response, while ensuring effective competition and benefit for customers.

  • Joint Industry Letter on Ecodesign
Brussels, Monday, October 24, 2016 Dear President, Dear Vice-Presidents, Dear Commissioners, We understand that you will discuss in the coming weeks the future of the Ecodesign Framework. Our industry organisations, representing the heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, household appliance and ICT & consumer electronics sectors, strongly support Ecodesign and Energy Labelling which, for several product groups, have proven very successful and contributed to the EU’s energy and climate goals by pushing and pulling the market towards more energy efficient products. However, to ensure that this success story continues, we would like to emphasize some key points which, in our view, require urgent attention: First, we urge you to publish without delay already voted Ecodesign measures, such as Lot 21 and omnibus Regulation on tolerances, at the very latest with the Winter Package. Indeed, the delay in publication in the Official Journal of already voted Ecodesign measures creates an unmanageable situation for industry, including SMEs, which invests considerable resources to improve the energy efficiency of products and needs legal certainty to re-design them and comply with the new requirements. Second, complement the current Ecodesign and Energy Labelling policies with measures to support the market uptake of efficient products. For example, raise consumer awareness about the benefits of energy efficiency and help them make investments; in the EPBD revision, promote inspections of installed appliances which can lead to planned replacements. Finally, Ecodesign measures have been effective because they have regulated measurable, verifiable parameters of the whole system, such as the energy consumption in use on the basis of a clear and transparent methodology.

COVER STORY | BY ALI ACKERMAN & ALARICE PADILLA Consumer confidence was a bit manic in 2012, hitting a five-year high in November and then dropping again in December as consumers doubted an end to the fiscal cliff, according toThe University of Mich- igan Consumer Sentiment Index. This uncertainty plays out in the results of CGT’s annual list of the top- performing public consumer goods companies. The vertical lists across 10 categories show a mixture of bright and dark spots — proving that some companies did a great job of capturing the consumer when and TOP where they could while others missed opportunities. Here is a breakdown of the rules and guidelines that we use to determine the players in each category: Company Rank: 2012 annual revenue or the equivalent is used to determine each company’s placement on the Top 100 list and on each vertical list. All financial information was sourced from annual reports and press releases. Revenue for each company is reported in millions of U.S. dollars ($M). If a company reported revenue in a currency other than U.S. dollars, and did not provide the U.S. dollar equivalent in its annual report, then the figure was subject to live exchange rates at press time (between November 8-14, 2013). Year-over-year gains and losses are reported based on information from the aforementioned sources. The company with the greatest sales gains per category is identified as the “Growth Leader”. Company Inclusion: Because revenue for most private companies is not readily available, the lists only in- clude publicly traded companies.
