As a beacon of hope for a return to normality we are delighted to be bringing IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth back to Dorset in 2020. Rest assured that thorough assessments as to the safety of the event to athletes, residents and staff have been conducted and a number of measures are in place, in terms of screening, distancing and touchpoint reduction. All the athletes will appreciate your continued support of the event more than ever after the challenges of the previous months.

Residents and businesses are advised to take the following into consideration when planning their journeys, and plan ahead for alternative parking locations or travel times. Please avoid parking on the bike course for safety reasons. Pedestrians can cross i the course at any time when safe to do so. Essential access for carers will be facilitated. There are NO RESTRICTIONS at any time to the emergency services.

North before joining the B3143 travelling Northbound until a left turn  Managed access at Vicarage Lane, Charminster King’s Stag onto Holwell Road. Avoid peak times to avoid long delays in crossing the bike course Access Advice: Peak Times 9:30am – 11:30am × 07:30 – 12:00 B3143 Fully Closed.  12:00 B3143 re-opens for Eastbound Access. It is advised to seek alternative parking arrangements for access FROME WHITFIELD from the B3143. The bike course follows the C12 south past Charlton Down, Charminster and into Frome Whitfield. The course turns off HOLWELL, GLANVILLES WOOTON, Westleaze, past the Dorset County Show Ground, then turns right on to the B3150 towards Greys bridge. MIDDLEMARSH B3150 London Road from the A35 Stinsford roundabout junction The bike course follows Holwell Rd onto Holwell Drove, Stock Hill to the B3143 Kings Road turning will be fully closed. Lane, Park Lane and Kennels Lane heading southbound on the C12. Access Advice: Access Advice: × B3150 London Road from A35 Stinsford Roundabout to × 08:00 – 12:30 Holwell Road, Holwell Drove, Stock Hill Lane, B3143 Kings Road junction will be FULLY CLOSED. Park Lane and Kennels Lane FULLY CLOSED.  12:00 B3143 re-opens for Eastbound access. FORDINGTON, DORCHESTER The bike course turns left onto the Kings Road and continues COSMORE, CERNE ABBAS, NETHER CERNE, towards Max Gate GODMANSTONE Access Advice: PLEASE SEE INSET ON MAP. The bike course continues south on the C12 towards Charlton Down.  08:30 – 13:30 Residential access Northbound ONLY. Access Advice: × 08:30 – 13:30 Fully Closed. Please consider alternative × 08:00 – 13:00 C12 is FULLY CLOSED. parking to avoid the road restrictions.  All day access via A352  Access to the A35 via Weymouth Avenue/Stadium roundabout. CHARLTON DOWN, CHARMINSTER The bike course follows the C12 south past Charlton Down, Charminster and into Frome Whitfield. Access Advice: × 08:30 – 13:30 The C12 will be fully closed. × B3150 London Road from the A35 Stinsford roundabout to the junction with B3143 Kings Road will be fully closed.  All day access via the A352.

IRONMAN 70.3 WEYMOUTH 0333 11 66 00 Temporary road closures will be in place on IRONMAN 70.3 Weymouth race day (Sunday 20th September 2020) to ensure the safety of athletes and public. These legal road closures are implemented under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1994, and apply to all vehicles and bikes that are not involved in the event.
