SCHOOL REQUEST TO CARRY RSL ANZAC DAY BANNER

Introduction The Greater Hobart RSL Sub-Branch has 50 banners designed to be carried by school students in the ANZAC Day parade. The banners acknowledge ’s military history and record the state’s contribution from the Boer War to current Defence operations.

Booking a Banner Schools who would like to march with a banner (or banners) in the Hobart ANZAC Day Parade and haven’t already received information are requested to complete and submit this form to the Greater Hobart RSL Sub-Branch by no later than Wednesday the 19th April 2017. Not all requests for specific banners maybe met due to the demand for certain banners. All banners will be issued on a first come, first served basis.

Collection and Return of Banners Reserved banners will be available for collection from 10:10 am to 10:40 am on ANZAC Day from the corner of and Macquarie Streets (outside the Astor Hotel) unless alternative arrangements are made. Each banner will need a party of 6 students plus an adult supervisor. Primary schools are actively encouraged to participate, but please be aware that the two students needed to carry the banner are able to do so, particularly if the weather is windy. On the day it may be possible to pair up primary school students with high school students if needed. Banners are to be returned on arrival at the Cenotaph. As parade participants disperse, there will be a banner return and parent meeting point located behind the northern VC Memorial and Salvation Army Beverage Stand.
