Following the introduction of the elite AFL Women’s  There are a set of public toilets next to the AFL building. Competition introduced in 2017, female football continues to flourish  The draft masterplan now notes that it is proposed to increase the size of with 223% growth (from 2016-19) making NSW/ACT second only the AFL field (concept only shown). This is to be done in consultation with behind Victoria in terms of female Club participation nationally. This the other stakeholders, being Netball, Soccer and Little AthleticsNo includes over 10,000 Club Auskickers – 20% growth over the past four synthetic football pitch as Council already built 4 at other locations – well years, and AFL Sydney, which the two local clubs are a part of, is now

Item CM9 Submitter Date Date Content Comments: #: received Acknowledged the largest community football competition in Australia. Both St George catered for in this area. AFC and Penshurst JAFC have experienced a combined 35% growth  Audio and visual upgrades – AFL will need to approach Council. over the last 4 years. Females currently make up 20% of the player This has bene permitted for other users of the park but it is subject base and this will continue to grow as each club plan to introduce more to conditions. female teams in the 2020 season.  In summary, AFL NSW/ACT supports what is outlined in the Draft Masterplan and we’ve highlighted specific areas that we’re particularly supportive towards including our feedback: o AFL NSW/ACT and both St George AFC and Penshurst JAFC provide opportunities and support boys and girls, men and women equally. We strongly believe that all amenities and changeroom areas should be unisex and accessible for people with a disability/mobility challenge. o lighting the entirety of the playing fields to a minimum of 100 lux will allow for training usage to be spread across all sporting grounds, and appropriate wayfinding lighting for volunteers, coaches and parents. The lighting will also enable training to take place in a safe, well illuminated environment. o maximise and upgrade existing parking areas, including appropriate lighting and emergency vehicle access to ensure both parking areas are safe and inclusive for all users. o Lighting is currently inadequate at the multipurpose field, and the multipurpose field has no access to changerooms for boys and girls to get changed in. Addressing this is critical given the growth of youth girls playing AFL. Potential locations could be with the proposed new storage building or added to the existing amenities block servicing Olds 3 soccer fields. o Childrens play areas and exercise hubs - Positioning these facilities safely away from goal posts will mitigate the likelihood of footballs landing in these areas. o When considering new storage buildings, we would also suggest the provision of a canteen and unisex changerooms to support the users of the multipurpose field. Currently there are no changerooms available for users of the multipurpose field. A minimum 5m safety run off area should be considered. A successful example of a dual use building with rebound walls for tennis and or basketball users exists in Heffron Park, Maroubra. o Covered spectator seating would be well received by both AFL and cricket spectators and would enhance the experience should Olds Park host major fixtures in the future. A good example exists at Bruce Purser Reserve, Kellyville which has previously hosted elite AFL fixtures. o We would recommend that upgrades be considered to public toilet and amenities in the existing sports pavilion. o A demolition and rebuild of the public toilets would be appropriate. The inclusion of a covered and sealed area from the public toilets to the sports pavilion would be appropriate for Olds Park Master Plan – dated 3 March 2020 11 | P a g e Community Consultation feedback and responses

Item CM9 Submitter Date Date Content Comments: #: received Acknowledged sport and recreation users, similar to new amenities building at Renown Park. Additional requests:  Regarding the multipurpose field, commonly referred to as Olds 2, we would recommend grass netball courts 6, 10, 11 & 12 have portable goal posts to allow the multipurpose field to be as large as possible to accommodate youth and adults matches. Behind goal netting/fence could be considered as a safety precaution to ensure balls would not enter residential properties.  Consider the multipurpose field to become a synthetic field in the future, given forecast population growth and the benefits of synthetic surfaces increasing the capacity for existing and new users; and managing use on other natural turf sports fields. Synthetic fields also allow us to accommodate growing female teams within our game and ensure that they are fully accommodated. For example, similar to what is proposed at the redeveloped Penshurst Park  Audio and visual upgrades ie, PA system to accommodate elite AFL fixtures and the flexibility to host movie nights/moonlight cinema (similar to North Sydney Oval and Centennial Park) in the future. 36 Natasha Clayton 14.02.20  16 teams – boys and girls – 350+ players  No additional amenities – will consider rebuilding existing ones to  Mentioned they were responsible for the grant that allowed the current accommodate the additional facilities. Penshurst RSL upgrade to the multipurpose field playing surface  All other comments noted/answered above Panthers JAFC  When considering new toilet buildings, we would also suggest the provision of a canteen and clubroom for the Penshurst RSL Panthers JAFC along with 4 unisex change rooms to support the users of Olds Park Field 02. Currently there are no change rooms available for users of the Olds Park Field 02 for boys and girls to get changed in. Focusing on this is critical given the growth of youth girls playing AFL in this area (the club include a plan for the proposed toilet block – but with no dimensions – with 4 changerooms with showers, canteen, clubroom and public toilets)  The inclusion of a covered and sealed area from the public toilets to the sports pavilion would be appropriate for sport and recreation users.  Penshurst RSL Panthers JAFC supports the removal, of the existing baseball net and golf cage. These two items are not used and unsafe only providing a climbing hazard for young children.  Penshurst RSL Panthers JAFC supports the idea of timed LED lighting as it is currently inadequate. As a major patron to Olds Park Field 02, we fill that this item is very important. The lighting will allow training to take place in a safe, well illuminated environment for coaches, players, parents and volunteers. This will allow Penshurst RSL Panthers JAFC Club to accommodate more teams to train on Olds Park Field 02, thus reducing the amount of traffic flow on Olds Park Field 01.  We strongly believe that all amenities and change rooms in the area should be unisexed and accessible for people with a disability or, who are mobility challenged.  The existing co - share club rooms will benefit with the following Olds Park Master Plan – dated 3 March 2020 12 | P a g e Community Consultation feedback and responses

Item CM9 Submitter Date Date Content Comments: #: received Acknowledged upgrades, not only for cosmetic features, but a safety reasons as well. o A stepped path from the pavilion to the main oval on both sides of the Grandstand to the Oval Gates. o A step off for the lower edge of grandstand onto the grassed area. o We also agree with suggested upgrades to the toilet and amenities inside the existing sports pavilion.  Provide a new storage building for maintenance equipment between the two ovals. This building can also provide an unbroken wall to allow for combined use (rebound walls) on both sides of it, that can be utilised by either basketball and or tennis players.  Penshurst RSL Panthers JAFC is a family club and we would encourage an area to accommodate any outdoor events. o This area would provide an informal stage, lighting and seating. As well some audio and visual system to be included that could accommodate movie nights and the flexibility to host exclusive AFL games. o It could be shaded by trees and or some sort of cover. o This area could also have and provide a picnic and spectator area. The area would also use some sort of shaded playground for younger ages.  Support cool zones  Also wish for removable goat posts for the netball courts on the multipurpose field (appears a coordinated response from the three AFL submitters) 3.
