CHAIRMAN’S REPORT GUS SEEBECK Dear Members, Supporters and Friends, There's little doubt that season 2009 will be judged a huge success by all reasonable measures. After the best part of nine long years, the East Coast Eagles finally realised our ultimate goal by winning the Club's first Premier Division Grand Final in emphatic style. This success was the result of an enormous amount of hard work, dedication and sacrifice from many people, both on and off the field. It was a long time coming, but I'm sure everyone will agree it was well worth the wait! One of the things I love most about playing football and being part of a football club is that it exposes those involved to a vast spectrum of emotions, often at a relatively young age. These emotions can have a lasting impact and we are forced to process and deal with them, often with very little preparation. Football teaches us how to handle criticism and how to lose, whilst 'keeping our heads up' and sticking together as a team. Conversely, it teaches us how to win with grace and humility and how to enjoy life's great highs, knowing full well that they are moments to savour and don't last forever. In the near ten years since our incarnation as the East Coast Eagles, those involved have experienced just about every emotion. We've won almost every award and accolade there is to win from Reserve Grade and U/18 Premierships to the Club of the Year, League
