Master of Photography
volume 9 issue 17/2020 MASTER OF PHOTOGRAPHY INVESTIGATING TRANSNATIONAL CREATIVE EXCHANGES IN THE PRODUCTION OF A READY- MADE TALENT SHOW Marta Perrotta Università Roma Tre [email protected] Abstract: Italy plays a peripheral role in the global market of ready-made shows, for historical reasons that pertain both to the marginality of the Italian language and to the scarcity of cultural and economic investments in the globalization of its products. This essay focuses on the analysis of Master of Photography, a talent show produced since 2015 by the Italian indie B/Arts for the pan-European production hub that Sky Limited conceived to produce suitable content for the group’s national art channels (UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy). By situating this research within media production studies, the article will focus on the creative and production work needed to create and circulate a talent competition on art photography, a TV show belonging to a genre which usually licenses and exports formats adaptable to each country. The main outcomes highlight interesting forms of creative negotiation between two of the three main components of the coproduction, with results that push the show towards a broadening of the horizons of a now classic television genre. Keywords: format, canned show, art television, co-production, pan-European, talent show, documentary 1 No Country for TV Export. The Uncomfortable Role of Italy in the Transnational TV Market In the global panorama of the TV industry, Italy plays a peripheral, problematic role both in terms of the production and international licensing of products – documentaries, series – and of the distribution of original formats to be adapted. -

Le Stelle Tornano a Ballare Dal 3 Settembre in Libreria #Cibookiamo

Reg. -
Coalition for Afrodescendants Shadow Report Cerd August 2 Final
ALTERNATIVE REPORT TO THE COMMITTEE ON THE ELIMINATION OF ALL FORMS OF RACIAL DISCRIMINATION In Anticipation of the Committee’s Review of Belize and in the Absence of a State Report Submitted by the Coalition for the Human Rights of Persons of Afro-descent in Belize and The Human Rights Commission of Belize Prepared with the assistance of Nyasha Laing, Esq. Socio-Economic and Legal Framework 7 V. Civil Rights 16 VI. Social, Economic, and Cultural Rights 27 VII. Education and Information 30 VIII. Priority Recommendations 31 1 I. Introductory Notes This Report is addressed to the Committee on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (CERD) in Geneva and represents an alternative to the State Report for the reporting periods 1-5 in respect of the CERD. The report was prepared without the benefit of a review of a State Report, and in the absence of data customarily available through official channels. Despite the failure of the State to gather or make available demographic data relevant to the situation of afro-descendant populations vis a vis its treaty obligations under the CERD, this shadow report seeks to present the CERD Committee with a holistic portrait of the most critical structural, cultural, economic, and institutional conditions affecting Afro-descendants in Belize. Research carried out for the preparation of this report employed a four-pronged methodology: (1) extensive review of statistical data relating to social indicators affecting Afro-descendants; (2) participation in, and review of, research and literature relating to the issues surrounding juveniles and crime control in Belize; (3) youth focus groups; and (4) consultation with academics, officials, and members of civil society. -
Punta Gorda Town Municipal Profile
Punta Gorda Town Municipal Profile General Punta Gorda Town is the southern-most municipality in the country, located 107 miles along the Southern highway south of Dangriga Town. It lies on the coast near Belize’s southern border with Guatemala and has regular ferry service to Guatemala and Honduras. Punta Gorda Town is the only municipality in the Punta Gorda District, a district which is predominantly rural with nearly 83% of its population residing in rural communities. It is the administrative and commercial center of the district. Population Between 2000 and 2010, Punta Gorda Town experienced average annual population growth of 2.1%, below the 3% annual urban population growth for the intercensal period. At the 2010 population census count, the population was estimated to be around 5,300 persons. It remains the least-populated municipality in Belize. The average household size also declined in the intercensal period from 4.2 persons per household in 2000 to 3.9 persons per household in 2010. Demographics Punta Gorda Town is predominantly a mix of Garifuna and indigenous Maya. Garifuna and Maya account for 24% and 22% of the population respectively in 2010. Creole is the most spoken language, with 64% of the population speaking Creole. The male-to-female ratio declined from 95 males per 100 females in 2000 to 89 males per 100 females in 2010. Since the population census figures are based on a de-facto count of the non-institutional population, this may be as a result of a portion of male population temporarily residing in other areas of the country in pursuit of employment or higher education, or residing in institutions such as military camps.
