Not their parents’ prom — The class of 2021, unlike the class of 2020, did have a chance to attend prom this year. It was different, for sure, but that didn’t stop seniors from turning out for the Red Devil Gala Prom Event Saturday night at Dickinson Field. With a Red Carpet entrance, photo stations, Class of 2021 memory project, trackless train, music and raffle prizes, the two-hour events provided plenty to do for prom-goers. Mathilde Kokoszka, Kaitlin Mrksich, Ellie Haarlow, Emilie Meredith, Maria Rivera, Phoebe Gabel and Shannon Lynch strike a pose at one of the photo stations. Please turn to Page 16 for more pictures. Friends, family and firefighters gather to salute deputy chief

Members of the Hinsdale Fire Department and the com- munity helped Deputy Chief Tim McElroy celebrate 48 years of service Friday prior to his retirement. Chief John Giannelli was one of sever- al speakers who brought up highlights and antics from McElroy’s career. McElroy’s wife, Robin, shares a laugh with his many relatives who attended. McElroy received several proclamations as well as mementos of his career before the ceremony con- cluded with a “walkout.” (Jim Slonoff photos)
