Wednesday November 28th 2018 Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences (FRA UAS) to House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) There will be an extra bus for all the U!REKA participants leaving at 9 o’clock! from the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Nibelungenplatz 1, towards the House of Logistics and Mobility. The House of Logistics and Mobility is located close to the airport. Participants leaving on Wednesday and having booked a flight, can take a bus (running every 30min) in front of the building to Terminal 1. Travel time will be about 5 min. Participants leaving on Wednesday with trains can either take a long distance train from the airport train station, or choose a local train to Frankfurt main station for departure. Travel time with the bus (running every 30 min.) to the airport train station will be also 5 minutes to Terminal 1. From Terminal 1 you can reach long distance trains as well as local trains to Frankfurt main station (travel time about 15min). .

Das Comeback des privaten Fernzugs 'Locomore', nach dessen Insolvenz im Mai, kommt nicht zuletzt aufgrund des Engagements des privaten tschechischen Fernbus- und Fernbahnanbieters LEO Express und seines deutschen Partners FlixMobility (mit FlixTrain und FlixBus), der Vertrieb und Vermarktung des Zuges übernimmt zustande. Vielmehr geht mit dem 'Re-Start' dieses Angebots die Überzeugung einher, dass es auch weiterhin eine Nachfrage nach preisgünstigen und zugleich schnellen Verbindungen im SPFV auf deutschen Gleisen geben wird. Beim "neuen" Locomore treffen nun die operative Erfahrung von LEO Express bei der Durchführung von SPFV-Leistungen und die starke und bekannte Marke FlixBus, mit ihrem know-how bei Vertrieb und Vermarktung von Fernverkehrsangeboten zusammen.     Competitive EUROPEAN CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS OF TRANSPORT Tendering of Rail Competitive tendering Services provides a way to introduce Competitive competition to railways whilst preserving an integrated network of services. It has been used for freight Tendering railways in some countries but is particularly attractive for passenger networks when subsidised services make competition of Rail between trains serving the same routes difficult or impossible to organise. Services Governments promote competition in railways to Competitive Tendering reduce costs, not least to the tax payer, and to improve levels of service to customers. Concessions are also designed to bring much needed private capital into the rail industry. The success of competitive tendering in achieving these outcomes depends critically on the way risks are assigned between the government and private train operators. It also depends on the transparency and durability of the regulatory framework established to protect both the public interest and the interests of concession holders, and on the incentives created by franchise agreements. This report examines experience to date from around the world in competitively tendering rail services. It seeks to draw lessons for effective design of concessions and regulation from both of the successful and less successful cases examined. The work RailServices is based on detailed examinations by leading experts of the experience of passenger rail concessions in the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands.     How to reach the University By public transport from Frankfurt Airport ■ After picking up your luggage walk to the regional train station at Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport. Please note that Frankfurt Airport has 2 train stations (the regional and the long distance train station)! ■ Purchase your ticket for the train and bus at the ticket machines in the regional train station choosing Mainz as your destination. Please select ‘via Rüsselsheim’ when purchasing your ticket at the ticket machine (ticket is at the moment 4,25 Euro). ■ Then take "S-Bahn" S8 (direction Wiesbaden Hbf) from platform 103 and get off at stop Mainz Hauptbahnhof (approx. 30 min ride). Note that your ticket will also be valid for an immediate bus ride to Mainz University and that you do not need to purchase a new ticket! ■ Exit the main exit of the train station. Please note that the train station has two exits which lie on opposite ends of the tracks. The main exit lies at the end where McDonalds is located. ■ From Mainz Hauptbahnhof you have two options (option 1 is quicker but bus no.69 operates less frequently than busses of option 2) 1.
