We have planned with Munich arrivals. There are many options for individual pre-trip travel and logistics to meet with the group the next day. Flight and pre-trip arrangements individual.

Be in Munich for the group’s gathering Sat June 27 late afternoon. Details and location to be announced.

Sat June 27 Individual Arrival at Munich Flights from the US arrive in the morning. Individual transfer to the group’s hotel. Group gathers at hotel late afternoon for drinks and dinner at travelers expense. Meet Wolfgang and Tom for tour orientation.

Sun June 28 Explore and Sightseeing Munich Full day sightseeing by bus and walking tour of Munich.

Evening dinner at original Hofbräu Haus alternatively other beer garden.

Mon June 29 To Passau at the Danube River Leave Munich, drive through Hallertau world’s largest hops growing region Stopover at Kuchlbauer Brewery with brew-tower designed by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. Continue into the Bavarian Forest and visit Bavarian Emigration Museum at Schiefweg: “From Schiefweg to Chicago” - The Emerenz Meier Story. Tue June 30 Explore and Sightseeing Passau City sightseeing Passau incl St. Stephan Cathedral (world’s largest organ in 1928) and Passau area. Free time for shopping, relaxation.

Wed July 01 The Bavarian Bohemian Forest and the Czech Republic Leave through the Bavarian Bohemian Forest, cross border into the Czech Republic. Stopover at Budweis to visit the famous Budvar brewery on a tour. Continue and cross border into Austria

Thu July 02 Castle Rappottenstein and Excursion to Monastery Melk Enjoy time at the castle and guided tour. Excursion to monastery Melk and 1,5 hrs cruise on the Danube river from Melk to Krems in the Wachau valley. Second night at historic castle Rappottenstein Austria

Fri July 03 Salzburg Drive to Salzburg and city sightseeing incl Sound of Music sites and Mozart story

Sat July 04 Berchtesgaden and the “Eagle’s Nest” Excursion to Lake Königssee. Continuing to Berchtesgaden area and visit Hitler’s mountain top retreat Kehlsteinhaus, the “Eagle’s Nest. Balance of the day with excursion to Oberndorf and visit of the famous Silent Night Chapel

Sun July 05 Passion Play at Oberammergau

Depart for Hotel at Kohlgrub near Oberammergau (2:30 hrs drive from Salzburg.

Hotel at Kohlgrub, check in and continue to Oberammergau (20 min drive). Free time in Oberammergau

14:30 - 17:00 Passion Play Acts 1 to 4 Dinner is served during break 20:00 – 22.30 Passion Play Acts 5 to 11

Mon July 06 Linderhof Palace, then to Munich Free time, enjoy the comfort of the hotel. Check out and continue to visit King Ludwig’s Palace at Linderhof. Continue to Munich and farewell dinner at Augustiner beergarden

Tue July 07 Homebound flights Tour ends after breakfast. Individual transfer to Airport Munich for homebound flight, arrival at US destination the same day. Alternatively additional nights in Munich or continue on individual travel options.
