VINCENZO LANCIA 24th August 1881 – 15th February 1937

Lancia was founded on 29 November 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia and his friend Claudio Fogolin, both racing drivers. The company was known as Lancia & C. The first Lancia, the 'Tipo 51' or 12 HP, was constructed in 1907. The Lancia company’s innovativeness, constant quest for excellence, the fixation of quality, lasted over six decades.

Sadly, in 1937 Vincenzo passed away and his wife and son took over the firm. They persuaded to join Lancia as senior engineer. Jano had already made a name for himself by constructing some of the most successful racing Alfa Romeos of the time.
