BROOKLYN HEIGHTS LIBRARY SEPTEMBER 2014 The Brooklyn Heights redevelopment project successfully completed the City’s comprehensive land use approval process. The new, state-of-the-art library is scheduled to open in 2020. The branch will be the largest neighborhood library, with more space available for collections and programming.

GREENPOINT LIBRARY AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION CENTER DECEMBER 2014 The Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund awards BPL a $5 million grant for the Greenpoint Library and Conceptual rendering of the new Brooklyn Heights Library Environmental Education Center. Opening in 2018, the center will be a model of sustainable development, o“ering programming spaces for environmental organizations and increasing awareness of the neighborhood’s unique, ongoing environmental challenges.

SPACEWORKS @ WILLIAMSBURGH JUNE 2015 BPL partners with Spaceworks to renovate the second floor of Williamsburgh Library, creating new community programming space and a“ordable studios for artists.

BROOKLYN CLASSIC SEPTEMBER 2014 The second annual Brooklyn Classic raises funds for BPL’s programs for children and youth.
