ALL SAINTS DAY

We celebrate ‘All Hallows Eve’ tomorrow evening. Why not ALL SAINTS celebrate ‘All Hallows Day’ on Tuesday?! All Saints Day recalls us to the great and joyous truth that we are always surrounded by ‘a great cloud of witnesses’ – the holy angels and the great ‘athletes’ of faith who have ‘run the race’ and ‘fought the good fight of faith’ in this same ‘arena’.

Sung 6:00 p.m. at St Paul’s, Sackville

For singers who would like to join in on the simple chants from The English , there will be an opportunity to go over the music at 5:30 p.m. This service is a bit out of the ordinary. As we often do for Red Letter Days, all the senses are called to take part in our worship as we make use of many practices of prayer from the early and medieval church.

ALL SOULS DAY Our regular Mid-Week Eucharist this week falls on All Souls Day. The day after we recall the great heroes of the faith on All Saints Day, there is a day for the rest of us – that is, for all those who, like ourselves, through many hesitations, confusions, and failures, nevertheless live in the mercy of Christ and die in the hope of the resurrection.

This service will be very much like Mid-Week all year round, with a few minor changes. It will be said, not sung. The names of the Faithful Departed who have had their heavenly birthdays in the past year will be read, along with the names of any others for whom we are asked to pray.

If you would like a friend or family member or anyone else remembered at this service, please give their names to Fr Ingalls or e-mail them to [email protected] or text them to 506.232.8270. St Ann’s Church, Westcock, NB Sunday, October 30, 2016 504, ‘Who are these like stars appearing?’
