WEEKEND TRAFFIC ADVISORY Friday June 24, 2011 to Sunday June 26, 2011

As part of its citywide traffic improvement program, the Department of Transportation has compiled a list of areas where Street construction or Street events will impede the normal flow of traffic this weekend.

MANHATTAN

East between 2nd Avenue and 3rdAvenue: This street will be closed from 7am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate NYCDDC trunk water main and utility work. Motorists should use alternate routes and posted detours to access Queensboro Bridge such as 2nd Avenue southbound or East 58th Street eastbound onto the Second Avenue contra flow lane.

Eighth Avenue between West 31st Street and West 33rd Street: Two lanes of traffic will be maintained from 11 pm Saturday until 10 am Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

East 20th Street between Irving Street and 3rd Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 10am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 20th Street between Irving Place and East: This street will be closed 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

Gramercy Park East between Gramercy Park South and 3rd Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 10am to 7pm to facilitate crane operation.

Gramercy Park East between East 20th Street and East 21st Street; This street will be closed 10am to 7pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

West 30th Street between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue: This street will be closed Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 45th Street between and : This street will be closed 7am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

West between 6th Avenue and 5th Avenue: This street will be closed Sunday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate crane operation.

West between 10th Avenue and 11th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 6am to 9pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 56th Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West between West and Columbus Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate construction operation.

East 67th Street between 2nd Avenue and 1st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate crane operation.

East 68th Street between and Madison Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 78th Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Columbus Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

West 120th Street between St. Nicholas Avenue and 7th Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 4pm to facilitate crane operation.

Suffolk Street between and : This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

Mercer Street between Spring Street and Prince Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

John Street between and Fulton Street: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate NYCT work.

Ann Street between Nassau Street and : This street will be closed 8am to 10pm Saturday and 9am to 10pm Sunday to facilitate NYCDDC roadway work.

Nassau Street between Fulton Street and ; Intersection of Ann Street at Nassau Street: This street will be closed 8am to 10pm Saturday and 9am to 10pm Sunday to facilitate NYCDDC roadway work.

Stone Street between Hanover Square and Coenties Alley; Mill Lane between and South Williams Street: These streets will be closed Friday April 1, 2011 to Wednesday November 30, 2011 for the Stone Street Pedestrian Mall Event as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

Route: • Hamilton Place between West 144th Street and West 142nd Street • West 143rd Street between Amsterdam Avenue and Hamilton Place The above streets will be closed Saturday from 11am to 6pm for the Hamilton Heights Weekend Walks (DOT Weekend Walks) as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

6th Avenue between West and West 33rd Street: This street will be closed Saturday from 11am to 6pm for the Church of St. John the Baptist 6th Avenue Summer Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

2 6th Avenue between West 43rd Street and West 58th Street: This street will be closed Saturday from Noon to 4pm for the International Immigrants Foundation Parade as permitted by NYPD.

Edward Morgan Place between West 156th Street and West 157th Street: This street will be closed Sunday from 11am to 6pm for the Uptown Streets Walkway (DOT Weekend Walks) as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

Route: • Madison Avenue between 104th Street and • 116th Street between Madison Avenue and Pleasant Avenue • Pleasant Avenue between 116th Street and 120th Street The above streets will be closed Saturday from 1pm to 2:30pm for the Gouverneur Parent’s Association Parade as permitted by NYPD.

Formation: • 40th Street between 5th Avenue and Park Avenue • 41st Street between 5th Avenue and Park Avenue • 39th Street between 6th Avenue and Park Avenue • 38th Street between 6th Avenue and Park Avenue • 37th Street between 6th Avenue and Park Avenue • 36th Street between 6th Avenue and Park Avenue Route: • 5th Avenue between and West 8th Street • West 8th Street between 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue • between 6th Avenue and • Christopher Street between Greenwich Avenue and Dispersal: • Greenwich Street between Bethune Street and West • Bethune Street between Greenwich Street and Hudson Street The above streets will be closed Sunday from 11am to 6pm for the Heritage of Pride March as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

Festival: • Hudson Street between West and Bethune Street • West 13th Street between 9th Avenue and Hudson Street The above streets will be closed Sunday from 11am to 6pm for the Heritage of Pride Festival as permitted by the Mayor’s Street Activity Permit Office (SAPO).

3 BROOKLYN/MANHATTAN

Brooklyn Bridge: This Bridge is closed to Manhattan-bound traffic overnight as of Monday night April 4th 2011 to perform necessary long term rehabilitation and repainting work. Brooklyn-bound traffic will be maintained throughout the project as will the span’s pedestrian and cycling path. Motorists should follow signed routes to access the bridge leaving Manhattan. The northbound FDR exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting 1 hour before closure hours noted below. Motorists should use the prior exit. The Brooklyn Queens Expressway eastbound exit to the Brooklyn Bridge is closed starting as early as 30 minutes before closure hours noted below. Motorists should proceed to the following Manhattan Bridge exit or use the prior Brooklyn Battery Tunnel (pay toll) exit for access to Manhattan. All work will occur overnight during off peak hours, when Manhattan- bound motorists will be detoured to the nearby Manhattan Bridge, or may choose other crossings. The full closure for traffic proceeding Manhattan-bound/westbound overnight will occur Monday night through Friday morning between 11pm and 6am, Saturday 12:01am to 7am and 12:01am to 9am Sunday. These lane closures are necessary to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges rehabilitation work.

Brooklyn Bridge Eastbound: One of three lanes will be closed on Saturday from 7am to 2pm to facilitate NYCDOT Bridges maintenance work.

BROOKLYN

Cadman Plaza East between Tillary Street and Red Cross Place: This street will be closed 6am Friday through 9pm Sunday to facilitate crane operation.

QUEENS

28th Street between Queens Plaza North and 41st Avenue: This street will be closed Saturday and/or Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.

76th Avenue between Vleigh Place and Main Street: This street will be closed Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 6pm to facilitate crane operation.
