Exmoor Young Voices is a project initiated by the National Park in order to hear from young people the issues and solutions which they have for sustaining Exmoor Park. EYV is a partner- ship project with ENPA.

Exmoor Young Voices have: • 80 young adults, 18 to 30 years old, involved in their advisory network, meeting quarterly • A Young Coordinator 12 hours a week based in the middle of Exmoor • Identified a range of issues in research with Exmoor young people, including housing, digital communications, transport, environment, local incomes and rents, submitted in a full report to the National Park in 2015 • Secured funding from every public authority, charity and foundation serving Exmoor • Identified potential self build sites • Advised on digital inclusion, coverage, costs and continuing limitations • Addressed every major authority, forum, consultative group, conference, farming and business network concerned with Exmoor, about the issues which young resident work- ers face in sustaining their part in Exmoor life • Seventeen young people signed up interested in self-build Exmoor Young Voices are: • Establishing a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO) • Being left three houses promised for resident young resident workers in the future • Organisers, with the impressive self built property at Exton, of a self build seminar • Organising a similar, repeat seminar in North Devon • Being funded by a local foundation to facilitate small loans to young resident workers • Working with housing associations on shared accommodation • Organising a tour of existing self builds with National Park Planners • Liaising with Exmoor Housing Assocs on allocations of affordable homes
