Abstract. The published data on Eurytomidae, Eupelmidae, Torymidae and Ormyridae families collected from territory of the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria was summarized. New records are herein presented as well. A total of 29 Eurytomids (of them 21 are new records to the region and 1 species – herbaria Zerova, 1994 is new to the Bulgarian fauna), 9 Eupelmids (4 are new records to the region), 16 Torymids (7 are new records to the region) and 5 Ormyrids (3 are new records to the region) are reported. New associations with plants and hosts for six chalcid were established. Chorotype classification of the species is proposed.

Introduction genera and three subfamilies (GIBSON, 1989; 2017). Chalcid wasps belong to the superfamily Species develop mostly as idiobiont on Chalcidoidea of the order Hymenoptera. the immature stages (larvae or pupae) of many Currently about 23 000 species have been described concealed within protected habitats such as and catalogued, and an estimated total diversity of plant tissue or cocoons or are endoparasitoids or more than 500 000 species have yet to be studied predators of insect or eggs (GIBSON, 1997).
